This is Chapter 8 of The Second Sentence. We discuss where governments get their power and why it's so important for governments to be responsive to the will of the people in order for governments to retain their legitimacy.

As we continue our look into the Second Sentence of the Declaration of Independence, we move past the dash. This part of the sentence tells us why Governments exist and what their only purpose is. And, it's a self-evident Truth that most governments today have completely forgotten.

In Chapter 6 of our series on The Second Sentence of the Declaration of Independence, we look at the most famous phrase in American history, "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

We continue our deep dive into the various clauses contained in the Second Sentence. Chapter 5 deals with "that they are endowed by the Creator with certain unalienable rights..."
