Episode 14, "Step into His Presence for Perseverance" Series: "Step into His Presence"

7/18/2024
Send us a Text Message. Stephanie Wright received the 2024 Gertrude Rush Award on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Her speech was about perseverance— a principle embraced by Gertrude Rush, Iowa's first Black female attorney. Stephanie details her perseverance to have her name included in the book “History of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa (1882-2020).” She tells why her name was left out, who left her name out, and how she got her name back into the history book. She shares how divine intervention brought her to the attention of a New York Times reporter and the publication of her story, "A Retired Prosec&t=48sutor's Quest for Recognition." She concludes with statements on the importance of doing the right thing to set the record straight. The video of this speech can be seen on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAhNRpk-nlo and includes the following facts: 1. Stephanie's name was included in the second publication of the “History of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa (1882-2000) but not in the third publication referenced above. 2. Fagg v. Holder Case No. 5:12cv4029 (N.D. Iowa December 12, 2013). 3. All Northern District of Iowa Historical Society meeting minutes can be accessed online. 4. Specific Historical Society minutes referenced are March 6, 2019, in paragraph 5. One hundred History Books cost approximately $5000. Some library funds may have been used for publication (Historical Society Minutes March 10, 2021, paragraph 2g.) Episode 13, "Calling All Superheroes and SuperSheroes" Series: "Step into His Presence"

6/18/2024
Send us a Text Message. Episode 13 in our Series Step into His Presence “Calling All Superheroes and Sheroes” Look up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's . . . When you were little, did you have a superhero or a super–shero or did you want to be one? I guess for many of us, depending on your age, it was Superman, then as the years went by, it was Wonder Woman. Like any other kid, I loved superheroes too. But do you realize that you are a supernatural hero or shero who can make a difference on the small stage or on the world stage? Yes. You can make a difference through prayer and fasting. Fasting and prayer can change your life and can change the lives of people anywhere in the world. I believe this because of the supernatural superheroes in God's Word who fasted, prayed and changed the outcome of history. But I have also heard of modern-day accounts of how prayer warriors changed things through fasting and prayer and delivered a nation. Let's explore this today. My name is Stephanie Wright. Let's talk about you, the Superhero or Super-Shero prayer warrior. | ReplyForwardAdd reaction If you want to contact us or comment on this podcast, please visit our website at cgmissions.com/podcast, where all episodes are available by category in series format. Episode 10 Endurance through Fasting and Prayer

5/13/2024
Send us a Text Message. Endurance through Fasting and Prayer Hello and welcome to Episode 10, in our “Step into His Presence” series. What does it mean to endure in prayer and fasting? Anna is a woman in the New Testament who was an example of someone who endured. Some scholars believe she was a widow for eighty-four years, and during that time, she never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying until the promise of seeing the Messiah was fulfilled in her life. Luke 2:36‑38. My name is Stephanie Wright. Hello and welcome to Episode 8 in our series, “Step into His Presence.” Today, we continue to "Step into His Presence" to learn about prayer with fasting. Today’s episode is entitled “Empowered Through Fasting.” Today, we are going to discuss three reasons for fasting and share a personal testimony about fasting. My name is Stephanie Wright. Let’s step into his presence to learn more about empowerment through fasting and prayer. Before we get started, if you have not already listened to Episode 6 of this series, “Nothing is Impossible with God,” please do so. Episode 7, "Unmasking the Enemy" Series: "Step into His Presence-Fasting"

4/20/2024
Send us a Text Message. Hello and welcome to Episode 7 in our series, “Step into His Presence.” Today, we continue stepping into his presence to learn about prayer with fasting. Today’s episode is entitled “Unmasking the Enemy.” Most of us have seen the Mission Impossible movies, and some are old enough to have seen the television series. There is one significant scene in almost every movie and many TV episodes where a fake rubber mask is used to disguise the good guys to look like one of the bad guys. In other words, you did not always know who the real enemy was. That’s what we are going to talk about today. Who is the real enemy when it comes to spiritual warfare in fasting and prayer? Listen to this podcast—you may be surprised when you unmask this enemy. My name is Stephanie Wright, and this is Episode 7, “Unmasking the Enemy,” in our series “Step into His Presence.” Before we get started, if you have not already listened to Episode 1 of this series, “Nothing is Impossible with God,” please do so. It provides scriptures, some basic foundational principles, contemporary examples of fasting with prayer, and caveats on how to fast. Episode 6, "Nothing is Impossible with God" Series: "Step into His Presence-Fasting"

4/20/2024
Send us a Text Message. Episode 6, “Nothing is Impossible with God” Series: “Step into His Presence: Fasting” Nothing is impossible with God. (Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 1:37). These are words of encouragement when we go through difficult times. And haven’t we all been there at one time or another in our walk with Christ? If you haven’t, keep living. But we must never forget what God has done for us, and we must remember that He can do what He has once done again and again. It is so easy to forget, but the Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance all things. John 14:26. In this and future episodes, I will share some personal experiences with you on how prayer and fasting thwarted attacks against myself, my family, friends, and even people I did not know personally. Yes, I said “prayer AND fasting” because that is what I learned early in my walk with God from the very first year I truly committed my life to Him. The church I attended after I gave my life to the Lord taught prayer with fasting. Let me stop here and give a caveat. I am talking about what we (my husband and I did as prayer warriors) did. We are not saying you have to follow our pattern of fasting, but we encourage you to thoroughly research fasting so you do not do harm to yourself. This includes following and seeking appropriate medical advice. The Bible says there are some things that are not going to be manifested without fasting. Everyone does not believe in fasting, and that is okay. If you see prayers answered without fasting, then that is good. But if you are still praying about the same things after years and years without the desired results, why not try fasting with prayer? My husband, Apostle Charles Wright, and I have also fasted and prayed for others. We have seen people who were sick be healed, who lost jobs be restored to the same job or new jobs, and people who were in bondage from sexual immorality delivered. Future episodes will present much more about prayer and fasting and how they result in a victorious life in Christ. So, please stay with us. Thank you. Episode 5, "The Garden Battles” Series: “Step into His Presence”

3/28/2024
Send us a Text Message. Episode 5, “The Garden Battles" Series: Step into His Presence" Today, we will answer the question, “Why did Jesus pray in the Garden of Gethsemane and not somewhere else before he was arrested?” Hello and welcome to Episode 5 of our series, “Step into His Presence.” My name is Stephanie Wright. Thank you for joining us today. It’s time to go into “The Garden Battles.” Why did Jesus spend his final hours in prayer in the garden—in this case, in the Garden of Gethsemane? This was not the only place Jesus had prayed before. He prayed in the mountains all night (Luke 6:12), in public (John 11:41-42, John 12:27-30), before Lazarus was raised from the dead (John 11:41‑45), and at many other times and places. So, why the garden? There are many theories, I am sure, as to why Jesus prayed in the garden the night he was arrested before his eventual crucifixion. Well, I would like to propose that Jesus prayed in the garden so he could defeat the devil in the garden. Remember, Adam and Eve failed the test when they were tempted by the devil in the Garden of Eden to eat the fruit of the tree of good and evil. They were strictly forbidden to eat from that tree, but they did it anyway in direct disobedience to God’s command. (Genesis 2:16‑17, Genesis 3). Episode 4, Step into His Presence: Forgiveness and Hope

3/18/2024
Send us a Text Message. Hello and welcome to Episode 4, in our series “Step into His Presence.” I’m your host Stephanie Wright. We will be celebrating Resurrection Sunday or Easter in a few weeks. This is a good time to remember that Jesus died so we might be forgiven for our sins. And did you know that there is a link between forgiveness and hope? So today, we are going to “Step into His Presence for Forgiveness.” Forgiveness is one of the topics I briefly mentioned in the first episode of the series, “Step into His Presence.” We also covered it in a previous podcast, but it is worth repeating, and this time, we are on YouTube—@cgmissionsinc. Does forgiveness -or unforgiveness-affect or have an impact on hope? I Googled the question and found there had actually been research done on the topic, which said “yes” forgiveness can affect hope. Now, that’s what scientists discovered, and I thought that was interesting from a scientific perspective. However, I wanted to consider what the Bible said about how forgiving someone can positively impact hope or, conversely, not forgiving can negatively impact hope. Let's get started on today's presentation on forgiveness and hope as we "Step into His Presence." 12/13/2023
Hello and welcome to Day 1 of our Christmas Podcast entitled “The Road to Bethlehem.” Today, we are going to talk about the prophecies of Christ’s birth with a specific focus on Bethlehem. We will start our presentation with two Christmas memory shares from Andrea of Ohio, and Maureen of Iowa, followed by a commentary on their contributions. If you are joining us for the first time, we invite you to listen to our previous daily podcasts on our website: www.cgmissions.com/podcast, which covers 25 days of Christmas, including this reboot. These podcasts are brought to encourage you and to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Stay with us to the end to hear Christmas music and announcements. This is Stephanie Wright. Let’s get started.
