Today, we conclude this series by looking at one of the names that Jesus used for God. This is a pretty unique name and sometimes even controversial. Some folks don’t like this name at all and we’ll talk about why as we study, “Abba, Father.”

Today, we’re going to look at the name, “Jehovah-M'Kaddesh” or the Lord who sanctifies. We already know that the Lord is our righteousness, but once we receive the free gift of righteousness purchased for us by the blood of Jesus, how then do we imperfect humans walk with a Holy God? That’s where knowing God as the God who sanctifies us becomes so important.

We all are naturally “bent” towards sin, but as we study the meaning of “Jehovah Tsidkenu,” we learn that Jesus took our sin, our sinful acts, and even our natural bent towards sin and nailed it to His cross, trading our sin for His righteousness.

Today’s culture tells us that it's OK to behave however we want when it comes to sexuality - then that same culture will pretend that there are no consequences to our actions. However, you can remove the stigma of behavior, but you cannot remove the consequences. Every family has lived through the negative impact of allowing lust to go unchecked in our lives. Lust unchecked will lead to a life unhinged. Today, we study the effects of unchecked lust in King David’s life.
