For the last 10+ years, at the beginning of the New Year, I have asked God to give me ONE Word, phrase, or thought to focus on and go deeper with Him during that season. I also ask Him to give me an anchor Scripture to mediate on and study more fully. This year He gave me the Word TRUST. He began by asking me, “Debbie, do you trust me?” I started to say, “Yes, I trust You, Lord.” But I knew the question meant, there was some area of my life where I needed to work on trusting Him more. God is a God of Covenant! There are many covenants throughout the Bible but do we really know what they are and how they pertain to us? Did you know that the word covenant is found throughout the Olt and New Testament, in fact it is used 2,895 times depending on the version you read. Covenant is on the heart of God and not only does He extend these Biblical covenants to us, He invites us to covenant with Him! Join me as I continue to walk through the Word for 2025 that God gave me to release to His Ekklasia. The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. Psalms 25:14 NIV

The Lord spoke to me that 2025 is a year to prioritize thankfulness and that no matter the situation or circumstance we must learn to be thankful. God is good even when things don’t look good. We must change our focus and fix our mindset to what the Kingdom of Heaven says. Psalms 100:4 says, “ Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” What can you do this year to prioritize thankfulness in your life and begin living with an attitude of gratitude and a lifestyle of thanksgiving all year long, not just one month a year?

In December, the Lord spoke to me and said, “2025 is to be a year of Sowing.” When I released the full word the Lord gave me to share in January, part of the word had to do with us being intentional and careful with what we are sowing this year with our words, actions, and deeds. Today, we are tackling the topic of sowing and reaping and what God has in mind for us to sow into for 2025. The Parable of the Sower isn’t just about receiving the Gospel, but it has to do with our hearts and how we are ready to receive the Gospel at the time of salvation and afterwards as well. Our words, actions and deeds come from what we think and what we believe. So let’s ask ourselves “What am I Sowing?”

"Choosing the better thing" means to choose or select the option that holds greater value or importance. This often means prioritizing a more meaningful or long lasting benefit over something that may seem appealing in the moment. Over the next few weeks I am revisiting the Word for 2025 that I released last week and breaking down certain parts. This week I want to look at what it means to choose the better thing, and how we may need to bring a balance to the Martha and Mary within each of us. Luke 10:38-42 tells us of the interaction between Jesus and Martha when she gets frustrated by her sister Mary not helping her in the Kitchen serving, but instead choosing to sit at Jesus’ feet thereby “choosing the better thing” at that moment. “When Jesus Splits the Sky” by Patricia Bootsma is a well balanced blend of Biblical insight, practical wisdom, and personal experience. Today is our last episode in the Becoming the Bride Series. Living Victoriously is a journey of faith. We are victorious, because Jesus was victorious. Victory can n=only be found in HIm. We can’t do it alone. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 says: “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” In order to live victoriously we must understand who we are in Christ and ALL that entails. It will require us to deal with the victim mindset/spirit. In the final epsiode of this series today, Amie and I discuss these things and more. Plus I give some steps for getting free of the victim mindset and walking it out so our faith can be counted towards us as righteousness. No matter what you do, you prosper.” The command to be fruitful and multiply starts in the book of Genesis and extends all the way through to the end in the book of Revelation. At first it was a spiritual blessing given to Adam and Eve in the Garden then it was made into a covenant and a command when Christ commissioned His church. We are to bear good fruit as we stay connected to the vine, but we are also told to multiple and make disciples. “… so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work,” … Colosians 1:10 At the end of each episode, I will have an activation exercise that will help us activate each week’s topic.
