S2E24 By Her Hand...

7/22/2024
On this episode recorded prior to the candidate swap out yesterday - we discussed more on the topic of Project 2025, the continuation of the prelude to starring in a live-action version of an Atwood novel we are all experiencing now... We discussed how voting is much more than any specific candidate, rather it is the movement and administration behind them that matters even more. We would love to have the conversations about practice but right now we all need to be straightening up in our chairs and paying close attention to the moves being made on the chessboard. We also talked about the importance that our elders should play in our community and why so many times esoteric groups fail to produce anything of merit due to their associations merely being about specific practice or tradition - when it should be geared more toward a general philosophy of unified ideals. By her hand.

S2E23 - Blessed Be The Fruit

7/8/2024
On this episode we discussed more on the current political climate as it impacts us all as well as our community. The power grabs, the talking points and the agenda of terror that some wish to inflict on the population. We talked about the importance of getting out of our echo chambers and to remember how to have adult conversations with each other.. even and especially with those whom we are not totally aligned with or even opposed to. The alternative is to bow down to horror. The Truth Against The World.

S2E22 Cast A Circle of Sanctuary

6/30/2024
On this episode, we discussed the absolutely horrendous decision of the Supreme Court to wrest control for themselves via the now-former Chevron precedent as well as the years of periodic stupidity of those agencies that were charged with the protection of the public and instead chose overreach. While the powers that be slog forward in an apparent attempt to create the sequel to an Atwood novel... we need to understand the importance of taking care of ourselves meaning our loved ones but also being there for others... corruption knows no bounds and so we must all learn to cast that circle... of sanctuary - whatever your belief or faith or lack thereof. Cue the cranky Gen-X'ers...

S2E21 - For the people... by the people

6/23/2024
On this episode we touched on a lot of subjects from supporting local businesses, shout-outs to a few favorites in the area and how we the people - have the final say regardless of the distraction techniques used ad infinitum in all forms of media and 'representation'. Wipe the deck, clean the house and hit the reset button! We need to turn this thing off and back on again, clear the cache of stupidity and start fresh. The other person struggling is not your enemy - that would be the one pulling the strings and watching the show.

S2E20 - Sick of It

6/16/2024
In a near homage to one of our favorite podcasts "Fed Up" here's one detailing some of the things we are just sick of! Everyone has their pet peeves and things that grate their nerves.. here are a few of ours! Menthal vapes may just be topping the list for John... or maybe the banana lady at Aldi's... it's a toss-up. This episode was also captured via FB Live video and may be viewed on the Pickeyweedz Facebook Page here: https://fb.watch/sKOHAxT_uJ/

S2E19 You No Take Candle!

6/9/2024
On this episode we forayed into our first attempt at combining video with a podcast via Facebook Live - see it at https://www.facebook.com/Pickeyweedz We talked about a ton of differing topics from experiences in the store to past experiences within careers of the past as well as esoteric experiences we had over the years. It was a ton of fun engaging with our audience live, which may be something we continue going forward. On another note, who else has been experiencing symptoms similar to Tay's persistent cough over the past several months? Inquiring herbalists want to know!

S2E18 A little everything all at once with special guest & author Christopher Bilardi

5/27/2024
On this episode, we sat down with our good friend Christopher Bilardi, author of The Red Church one of the best books on Pennsylvania Dutch we've ever read. We talked a bit about his upbringing, background and the state of things in the esoteric world today. We're also very excited to see a new Sybil Leek book in the works that he has edited to be released hopefully in the next year or so! We had a wonderful time as always with Christopher and hope you enjoy this episode as well.

S2E17 Therapy in Action with Special Guest Brandon Puglisi, LCSW, CAMS-II, EMDR

5/20/2024
On this episode, we had the good fortune of sitting down with Brandon Puglisi of Puglisi Counseling in a conversation that ranged from his background to his multi-faceted approach to therapy. No two people are exactly alike and neither should be the approach to each person's mental health. Brandon spells it out in his unique, open, and friendly way where there is never any judgment. As practitioners, occultists, pagans, etc. this is invaluable to know as many times therapists come with their own biases and preconceived notions in terms of spirituality, religion, or the lack thereof. This was one of our favorite episodes and we're planning to do a LIVE event in the next month or so where folks can ask questions etc. with Brandon and us during the recording. Thanks so much, Brandon for taking the time out to chat with us this morning! Find out more information about Brandon and his practice at the following URL: Puglisi Counseling

S2E16 Block Party

5/13/2024
On this episode we discussed the ongoing block party on social media platforms, the genocide happening before our eyes, the corporate overlords and the powers working behind the scenes to control our world. We also talked about just how important the currency of the people is on where they spend their money and that the fight isn't about left vs. right - rather it is between the haves and have-not's. The 99% of us struggling and the 1% who are hoarding all the gold. Local and State elections matter, where you spend your money matters, small business matters - corporate spreadsheets do not.

S2E15 Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

4/29/2024
On this episode we took a brief look into Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs as it may apply to spiritual practice. That is, in terms of addressing one's basic needs as best as they can in this whirlwind of crisis that we all live in today so as to be able to open ourselves more fully to spirit.

4/22/2024

S2E13 Loungin' with Luci & Friends (with special guests Tim & Tina!)

4/15/2024
On this episode, we sat down with our friends & local practitioners of NEPA: Tim & Tina who are also the hosts of our popular weekly meditation & the bi-weekly 'Sin-Day School' held at the store. We talked a bit about Tina's background and practice and just had a good old-fashioned bullshit session... the kind of conversations that happen every day at the Pickeyweedz counter. It was a great time and we hope you enjoy the lively banter as much as we did!

S2E12 The blind man touches the elephant and other head breaking moments...

4/1/2024
On this episode, we continued with our focus series featuring practitioners of NEPA by hosting a long-time customer and friend of the Weedz... Nathan! We ran the gamut on this from his background as a son of a minister to a practicing occultist and of course, you'll be sure to note the occasional input from Bella the overfamiliar. This conversation could have well continued for hours but we had to open the store at some point... We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed having Nathan as our guest!

S2E11 Pizza Crusts & Primal Screams (or Where the Creepy things at?)

3/25/2024
On this episode, we discussed a lot of stuff ranging from people under the influence of whipped cream cans to pizza crust disposal and even Tay's addiction to Tarot cards. Sound crazy? Welcome to our world! The counting is done, the new system is fully live and we have been shipping goodies like crazy. We are thrilled with how well the new system is working and all the new things we can offer to you - our customers. We are also very excited to announce that the Wednesday meditation is returning the first week of April with our beloved Tina (of Sinday School fame!) kicking it off with a self-guided meditation complete with screaming out the angst.. Can't wait! In any case... throw away your own pizza crusts, pour a cold one and enjoy the show....

S2E10 Flaming Dumpster Fire of Failure... and the big RESET button...

3/18/2024
On this episode, we talked a bit about everything... from the bullshit antics a few people have attempted to the fantastic people we have met in this community who are thankfully the majority. We talked about learning from mistakes, taking corrective actions, setting firm boundaries, enforcing them, and the beauty of the diversity in our community. The website is live with a complete inventory accounting and we are shipping A LOT. A bunch of folks have taken advantage of the Shop Pay payments plan and it's also working both on the web and now in-store! The two of us hand-entered, photographed, and uploaded over 2200 product SKUs for a little over three weeks. We are exhausted but so happy to be home on the system where we started four years ago.

S2E9 Perspectives & Personalities

3/11/2024
On this episode we talked about the the importance of continuing to build that solid foundation as well as keeping a beginner's mindset while walking the crooked path. It is truly more than winning the "prize" of a leadership title.. it is all about the journey. We talked about perspectives, seeing things from another's point-of-view and reading everything, especially from someone you don't agree with. Most of this originating from a question regarding how to start without doing something 'wrong'. The answer to that of course is to just jump in and break stuff. It is overwhelming to begin study as the variety of material is truly massive - you just have to start. Pick a spot.. and jump in.

On this our 25th episode we discussed just how vital community support is for any small business. So if you enjoy the environment and personal touch any small business offers - please consider supporting them if not financially then by sharing them amongst friends & on social media. It costs nothing to click share or write a good review and it means the world to any small business owner. Truly.

S2E6 Hexology & Pennsylvania Dutch with special guest Hunter Yoder

2/12/2024
On this episode, we were fortunate to land an interview with Hexologist Hunter Yoder; owner/operator of The Hex Factory out of Berks County, PA. Here is a brief excerpt describing Hunter & his amazing work: The most prolific and outspoken artist of a modern school of "hexologists" is Hunter Yoder, owner and operator of the Hex Factory in Philadelphia. Born and raised in Berks County, Hunter was inspired by local artistic traditions, and even painted a barn on his father's property near Virginville. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Hunter embraces the title of "Hexologist," and has sought to reinvent the mythology of the modern hex sign by incorporating aspects of his interest in ancient pre-Christian ritual culture. Hunter's work combines plant geometry, runic inscriptions, and several designs which are an homage to the work of Lee Gandee. Like Gandee, Hunter experiments with the use of art for shamanic and magical purposes, believing that his work is an extension of his spiritual path. Identifying himself religiously as a Heathen, Hunter blends traditional motifs with arcane occult emblems in the interest of reviving ancient Germanic religion. While for many people in Pennsylvania, this particular approach remains highly controversial, especially because of the historical abuse of such interest in Germanic culture during the second World War, Hunter aims to break down such taboos in an effort to take his art in an entirely different direction, blending old and new mythology. Despite these obstacles in belief, tradition, and culture, it is undeniable that Hunter's work is visually stunning, and part of the spectrum of modern applications of continued interest in Pennsylvania Dutch culture in the United States. page 119, "Hex Signs, Myth and Meaning in Pennsylvania Dutch Barn Stars," by Patrick Donmoyer, a publication of the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center at Kutztown University, 2013 We had a great time chatting with Hunter and he was kind enough to send over three of his books as well as a few of his original Hex art for us to offer in the store! We are so excited to present this episode - we hope you enjoy it. For more information on Hunter & The Hex Factory visit his site at https://www.thehexfactory.com or https://www.huntermyoder.com/

S2E5 Healing & Energy Work with special guest Corinne from Mettaphysical

2/5/2024
On this episode, we had a great conversation with one of our favorite people in the area - Corinne from Mettaphysical. We talked about her beginnings, the learning curve, how much travel makes a difference in one's perspective, and talked about what an amazing experience her retreats are both locally as well as out West. Corinne is an amazing person, healer, and all-around down-to-earth person to listen to. Her work is a perfect example of what being 'of service' is really about. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we had fun talking with her!
