S2E19 You No Take Candle!

On this episode we forayed into our first attempt at combining video with a podcast via Facebook Live - see it at We talked about a ton of differing topics from experiences in the store to past experiences within careers of the past as well as esoteric experiences we had over the years. It was a ton of fun engaging with our audience live, which may be something we continue going forward. On another note, who else has been experiencing symptoms similar to Tay's persistent cough over the past several months? Inquiring herbalists want to know!

S2E18 A little everything all at once with special guest & author Christopher Bilardi

On this episode, we sat down with our good friend Christopher Bilardi, author of The Red Church one of the best books on Pennsylvania Dutch we've ever read. We talked a bit about his upbringing, background and the state of things in the esoteric world today. We're also very excited to see a new Sybil Leek book in the works that he has edited to be released hopefully in the next year or so! We had a wonderful time as always with Christopher and hope you enjoy this episode as well.

S2E17 Therapy in Action with Special Guest Brandon Puglisi, LCSW, CAMS-II, EMDR

On this episode, we had the good fortune of sitting down with Brandon Puglisi of Puglisi Counseling in a conversation that ranged from his background to his multi-faceted approach to therapy. No two people are exactly alike and neither should be the approach to each person's mental health. Brandon spells it out in his unique, open, and friendly way where there is never any judgment. As practitioners, occultists, pagans, etc. this is invaluable to know as many times therapists come with their own biases and preconceived notions in terms of spirituality, religion, or the lack thereof. This was one of our favorite episodes and we're planning to do a LIVE event in the next month or so where folks can ask questions etc. with Brandon and us during the recording. Thanks so much, Brandon for taking the time out to chat with us this morning! Find out more information about Brandon and his practice at the following URL: Puglisi Counseling

S2E16 Block Party

On this episode we discussed the ongoing block party on social media platforms, the genocide happening before our eyes, the corporate overlords and the powers working behind the scenes to control our world. We also talked about just how important the currency of the people is on where they spend their money and that the fight isn't about left vs. right - rather it is between the haves and have-not's. The 99% of us struggling and the 1% who are hoarding all the gold. Local and State elections matter, where you spend your money matters, small business matters - corporate spreadsheets do not.

S2E15 Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

On this episode we took a brief look into Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs as it may apply to spiritual practice. That is, in terms of addressing one's basic needs as best as they can in this whirlwind of crisis that we all live in today so as to be able to open ourselves more fully to spirit.

S2E13 Loungin' with Luci & Friends (with special guests Tim & Tina!)

On this episode, we sat down with our friends & local practitioners of NEPA: Tim & Tina who are also the hosts of our popular weekly meditation & the bi-weekly 'Sin-Day School' held at the store. We talked a bit about Tina's background and practice and just had a good old-fashioned bullshit session... the kind of conversations that happen every day at the Pickeyweedz counter. It was a great time and we hope you enjoy the lively banter as much as we did!

S2E12 The blind man touches the elephant and other head breaking moments...

On this episode, we continued with our focus series featuring practitioners of NEPA by hosting a long-time customer and friend of the Weedz... Nathan! We ran the gamut on this from his background as a son of a minister to a practicing occultist and of course, you'll be sure to note the occasional input from Bella the overfamiliar. This conversation could have well continued for hours but we had to open the store at some point... We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed having Nathan as our guest!

S2E11 Pizza Crusts & Primal Screams (or Where the Creepy things at?)

On this episode, we discussed a lot of stuff ranging from people under the influence of whipped cream cans to pizza crust disposal and even Tay's addiction to Tarot cards. Sound crazy? Welcome to our world! The counting is done, the new system is fully live and we have been shipping goodies like crazy. We are thrilled with how well the new system is working and all the new things we can offer to you - our customers. We are also very excited to announce that the Wednesday meditation is returning the first week of April with our beloved Tina (of Sinday School fame!) kicking it off with a self-guided meditation complete with screaming out the angst.. Can't wait! In any case... throw away your own pizza crusts, pour a cold one and enjoy the show....

S2E10 Flaming Dumpster Fire of Failure... and the big RESET button...

On this episode, we talked a bit about everything... from the bullshit antics a few people have attempted to the fantastic people we have met in this community who are thankfully the majority. We talked about learning from mistakes, taking corrective actions, setting firm boundaries, enforcing them, and the beauty of the diversity in our community. The website is live with a complete inventory accounting and we are shipping A LOT. A bunch of folks have taken advantage of the Shop Pay payments plan and it's also working both on the web and now in-store! The two of us hand-entered, photographed, and uploaded over 2200 product SKUs for a little over three weeks. We are exhausted but so happy to be home on the system where we started four years ago.

S2E9 Perspectives & Personalities

On this episode we talked about the the importance of continuing to build that solid foundation as well as keeping a beginner's mindset while walking the crooked path. It is truly more than winning the "prize" of a leadership title.. it is all about the journey. We talked about perspectives, seeing things from another's point-of-view and reading everything, especially from someone you don't agree with. Most of this originating from a question regarding how to start without doing something 'wrong'. The answer to that of course is to just jump in and break stuff. It is overwhelming to begin study as the variety of material is truly massive - you just have to start. Pick a spot.. and jump in.

S2E8 25th Episode - Support Small Business!

On this our 25th episode we discussed just how vital community support is for any small business. We talked about some of the issues, frustrations, and joys of being part of the struggle to stay alive in trying times. Fact is... we are 100% reliant on the support of the community to exist. So if you enjoy the environment and personal touch any small business offers - please consider supporting them if not financially then by sharing them amongst friends & on social media. It costs nothing to click share or write a good review and it means the world to any small business owner. Truly.

S2E6 Hexology & Pennsylvania Dutch with special guest Hunter Yoder

On this episode, we were fortunate to land an interview with Hexologist Hunter Yoder; owner/operator of The Hex Factory out of Berks County, PA. Here is a brief excerpt describing Hunter & his amazing work: The most prolific and outspoken artist of a modern school of "hexologists" is Hunter Yoder, owner and operator of the Hex Factory in Philadelphia. Born and raised in Berks County, Hunter was inspired by local artistic traditions, and even painted a barn on his father's property near Virginville. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Hunter embraces the title of "Hexologist," and has sought to reinvent the mythology of the modern hex sign by incorporating aspects of his interest in ancient pre-Christian ritual culture. Hunter's work combines plant geometry, runic inscriptions, and several designs which are an homage to the work of Lee Gandee. Like Gandee, Hunter experiments with the use of art for shamanic and magical purposes, believing that his work is an extension of his spiritual path. Identifying himself religiously as a Heathen, Hunter blends traditional motifs with arcane occult emblems in the interest of reviving ancient Germanic religion. While for many people in Pennsylvania, this particular approach remains highly controversial, especially because of the historical abuse of such interest in Germanic culture during the second World War, Hunter aims to break down such taboos in an effort to take his art in an entirely different direction, blending old and new mythology. Despite these obstacles in belief, tradition, and culture, it is undeniable that Hunter's work is visually stunning, and part of the spectrum of modern applications of continued interest in Pennsylvania Dutch culture in the United States. page 119, "Hex Signs, Myth and Meaning in Pennsylvania Dutch Barn Stars," by Patrick Donmoyer, a publication of the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center at Kutztown University, 2013 We had a great time chatting with Hunter and he was kind enough to send over three of his books as well as a few of his original Hex art for us to offer in the store! We are so excited to present this episode - we hope you enjoy it. For more information on Hunter & The Hex Factory visit his site at or

S2E5 Healing & Energy Work with special guest Corinne from Mettaphysical

On this episode, we had a great conversation with one of our favorite people in the area - Corinne from Mettaphysical. We talked about her beginnings, the learning curve, how much travel makes a difference in one's perspective, and talked about what an amazing experience her retreats are both locally as well as out West. Corinne is an amazing person, healer, and all-around down-to-earth person to listen to. Her work is a perfect example of what being 'of service' is really about. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we had fun talking with her!

S2E4 Learning about Irish Pagan Practice (Special Guest Morgan Daimler)

On this episode, we were joined by special guest Morgan Daimler author of some of the best works on Irish Paganism & practice available today. Morgan is also one of the foremost authorities on Irish Fairy practice in the US. We had a fantastic conversation from the importance of scholarship and accurate research to the value of knowing and understanding the context of the original language when working within an indigenous culture. We were thrilled to have Morgan join us and thoroughly enjoyed our conversation as we hope you will too!

S2E3 Expanding horizons...

In this episode, we grabbed a handful of the books found on the top shelf that people look at but don't always recognize for what they are. From Agrippa to Yeats to the Orphic Hymns - there lies a treasure trove of esoteric knowledge. The shiny books may be the first ones you read but don't deny yourself the wonder that lies beyond the entry level. Not quite bibliomancy as we weren't seeking answers to inquiry; rather, we read through a few passages at random just to demonstrate the sheer amount of information the classic works contain. The episode would not be complete without the requisite contribution from Bella in the form of artistic snoring interspersed with her usual timing and accuracy. We hope you enjoy it!

S2E2 Practitioners of NEPA with special guest Tim Anderson

On this episode, we were joined by Tim Anderson for the debut of our new podcast series "Practitioners of NEPA" in which we feature local practitioners of the esoteric. We had a fantastic conversation with the typical laughter we always have when Tim is around. To bring laughter is a gift after emerging from the darkness of addiction and the traumatic experiences of a challenging childhood. Tim talks about how his intuitive work and reliance on his ancestors for support were key in providing the support structure he needed to beat the monster of chemical dependency. A purer demonstration of will would be difficult to point to. We are so proud of Tim and the absolute achievement his life has become and what an example for others suffering under the same circumstance.

S2E1 - Season 2 Opener - Mark Stavish Uncensored!

In this episode, we were joined by Mark Stavish, the Director of the Institute for Hermetic Studies for a great conversation across a myriad of topics. Mark gave us a few predictions for 2024 along with his no-holds-barred thoughts regarding the state of the esoteric today, and the importance of finding yourself as well as a group of like-minded practitioners. As a rule, we do not edit our podcast episodes. They are recorded as a live session with no script. Our episodes are always a showcase of free-flowing conversation and the guest's opinions are their own as they are entitled to be. We all must learn to work together and that includes working with others whose opinions do not always align. This was a large part of the conversation in that we are too often separated from others because they do not match our personal criteria for acceptance or even listening. How much we miss by making knee-jerk, emotional decisions because someone didn't use the 'right' words or feel like we do. We are fortunate to have someone of Mark's caliber in our midst and his exceptionally thorough knowledge combines perfectly with his ability to explain complex topics simply; it is truly a blessing, especially for those dipping their toe into the very deep pool of the esoteric.

S1E16 Finale - Stick a fork in it.. it’s done! (2023)

In this episode, our season one finale; we talked about how to avoid those who would rather scam you than guide you as well as reviewed a few other topics covered over the past year. We also talked about just how important the inner work is and how much it enhances any form of practice. This has been an incredible start for our little baby podcast and we can't thank you all enough for tuning in as well as for all of the positive feedback! Season Two of In the Weedz will begin on January 8th, 2024!
