In this interview, Jeff talks to Michael Freund about Zionism and its biblical roots. They discuss the connection Jews have, and always have had, with the Land of Israel; and they discuss the prophetic importance that all of the tribes of Israel return to the Land God promised them in the Bible. Rabbi Michael Freund graduated from Princeton University and got his MBA from Columbia. He lived in Israel for 25 years, where he served as Deputy Communications Director under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and went on to found Shavei Israel, a nonprofit that has brought more than 10,000 Jews from far-flung places on Aliya to Israel, including descendants of the Lost Tribes. He has been a syndicated columnist for the Jerusalem Post for two decades and authored two books. In 2008, in response to the threat of Islamic radicalism’s rapid penetration of American society, Charles, along with Professor Dennis Hale and Sheikh Ahmed Mansour, founded Americans for Peace and Tolerance. Charles has recently formed The African-Jewish Alliance to educate the public about the Islamist onslaught against Africans today. The AJA consists of American Jews and Africans living in America whose people are under assault. Charles was once named by The Forward as one of America’s top 50 Jewish leaders. He has been widely published, including in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Jerusalem Post, and the Encyclopedia Britannica. He has appeared on local and national television and radio, including CNN, CBS, Fox News, NPR, and PBS. In this interview, Jeff talks to Robert J. Wolf MD, author of "Not a Real Enemy: The True Story of a Hungarian Jewish Man's Fight for Freedom." Published by Amsterdam Publishers, this 4-time award winning book is based on Robert’s family’s history, first living under the Nazis, and then under the communist regime in Hungary. In 1944, almost half a million Jewish Hungarians were deported to Auschwitz. In this interview, Jeff talks to Sondra Baras about the legitimacy of the Jewish claim to the Land of Israel, and in particular, the area referred to as "The West Bank". Sondra explains why the "West Bank" should only be called "Judea and Samaria" and she unpacks why it is inappropriate to refer to her - or anyone else in her community - as a "Settler" because of the legal and biblical right all Jews have - and have always had - to the heartland of Israel. Sondra Oster Baras is an Orthodox Jew, born and raised in the US. She and her husband moved to Israel in 1984, and shortly thereafter, she became an active spokes-person for the communities of Judea and Samaria. In September 2023, Sondra Oster Baras retired as Director of CFOIC-Israel and assumed the position of International President. She and her husband Edward raised five children in Karnei Shomron, where they still reside today.
