The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same

3/15/2024
In this episode, I discuss the latest changes made by the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses. Are they enough? Does being allowed to wear a beard and ditch the tie (for men) or wear slacks (for women) make up for almost a century and a half of lies, deceit, and cruel treatment on the part of the Watch Tower Society? Why is the governing body making these changes? Does it have anything to do with the many court cases Watch Tower is facing? And are their new policies on how to treat disfellowshipped people a good reason to "return to Jehovah"? EDIT: I took "a few months" to mean two months, ie. 8 weeks. In fact, in the Letter to Elders entitled "Adjustments to Handling Serious Wrongdoing in the Congregation" (S-395-E 3/24) it specifically mentions "three months".
