Invading Time

3/10/2024
Rate our podcast! Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com So, what is time? To put it simply, time is duration. Our clocks mark change or, more precisely, our timepieces are benchmarks of change that indicate the passage of time. We could say, then, that time is a necessary precondition for change, and change is a sufficient condition to establish the passage of time. In other words, whenever there’s a change of any kind, we know that time has passed. We see this as we go through life and as we age. And we cannot recover the minutes that have passed by.

The Seder Meal - 2023

2/10/2024
This is a recording of a Men's event we did before Christmas 2023. The Audio is not our highest quality, but the information is great and we hope it brings you curiosity and symbolic knowledge. The Seder is the traditional dinner that Jews partake of as part of Passover. The annual Passover commemoration is celebrated by nearly the entire Jewish community, bonding families and communities to their Jewish roots. Each year Jewish people, religious and nonreligious, celebrate the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by gathering and experiencing the Passover Seder.

Secret Agent Training - Part 5 (Restoration & Hope)

2/2/2024
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11 NLT The renewal of all things is meant to be your first hope in the way that God is your First Love. If it isn’t the answer to your wildest dreams, if you aren’t ready at this very moment to sell everything and buy this field, then you have placed your hopes somewhere else. Nearly everyone has. When a precious hope is dashed, it can really break your heart. It may usher in fear and anxiety. You may not recover for a week or five years, depending on the loss and the other resources of your life. If you put your hope in something that cannot possibly come through for you, you will be constantly let down. It was never meant to play that role. Only God knows the depths of your desires. Only He can come through and meet your needs. Jesus — rescue my heart and all my dashed hopes. You are the Healer; come and heal every lost hope in me. Resurrect hope, Lord. Secret Agent Training - Part 4 (Freedom in this World)

1/19/2024
The Bible states emphatically in Galatians 5:1 that believers are free in Christ: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1). Before Jesus died on the cross, God’s people lived under a detailed system of laws that served as a moral compass to guide their lives. While powerless to grant salvation or produce true freedom, the Law nevertheless pointed the way to Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:19–24). Rate our podcast! Secret Agent Training - Part 3 (Say Cheeeeese)

1/12/2024
Being a child of God is not about being a pseudo-fake-pretend Christian. Being a member of God’s house is not about being a poser. Being a Christian is not about being a Christian in name only. But instead, being a Christian means that you listen to God’s Word. Being a Christian is to be a hearer of Jesus’ Word. Rate our podcast! Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com

11/5/2023
Rate our podcast! Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com God is much more committed to building godly joy and happiness in his children than we are to finding it. One of his ways of doing this is by seeing to it that we walk through enough trouble to make us give up on finding our joy in a trouble-free life. Get to know the passages in the Bible that teach this. Romans 5:3–5

Sticks and Stones - Part 4 (The name of the Lord)

10/29/2023
Rate our podcast! Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com We talked about: https://www.pauseapp.com/ The name of Jesus, who saves His people from their sins, denotes all the power of the mighty Creator Himself. Jesus gives believers the authority to serve, work, and pray in His name when we do so, believing in Jesus’ saving power and desiring God’s will. Jesus, with the authority of the Father, exercised power to save sinners, and His name is the only name we can call on for salvation (Acts 4:12). As adopted sons and daughters into God’s family, Christians experience God’s saving grace through faith in the Person of Jesus. When we call on Him, we participate in His power and find that “the name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10).

Sticks and Stones - Part 2 (Inner Voice)

10/16/2023
Rate our podcast! Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com Self-talk is a mechanism of our reasoning that includes mental dialogues that can be quite complex. The dialogue can originate solely within our mind, or be influenced by external experiences or discussions. Sometimes, these dialogues are pleasant, and sometimes not. And they can approximate reality or be pure fantasy. Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. (2 Cor 10:3-5)

Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com The Power of the Tongue We must make no mistake about it: though one of the smaller parts of our body, our tongue is one of the most powerful forces for good or evil in our marriage. Indeed, the book of Proverbs teaches us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).

Beloved Son - Part 4 (Our Fathers Example)

9/18/2023
Rate our podcast! Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com A father’s lived-out example is not to be minimized. Fathers, as do mothers, set visible examples for their sons to imitate (1 Corinthians 4:15–16). Neither do we minimize the influence of a mother’s counsel, as Lady Wisdom to her husband and sons. But as the heavenly Father himself demonstrates in his declaration to and about his Son — “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased” — we fathers must reckon with the remarkable power of our words.

In fact, “while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him” (Luke 15:20). He runs to his wayward son, embraces him, and kisses him. In Jesus’ day, it was not customary for a grown man to run, yet the father ran to greet his son, breaking convention in his love and desire for restoration (verse 20). The returning son begins his prepared speech (verse 21), but his father cuts him off and begins issuing commands to honor his son—the best robe, the best ring, the best feast! The father does not question or lecture his son; instead, he joyfully forgives him and receives him back into fellowship.

Beloved Son - Part 2 (Younger Brother - Prodical)

8/14/2023
People who live large portions of their lives apart from God still get the same love and forgiveness from God that we all get. They still get the party. But they don’t bring the memories. They don’t get the history. They don’t get the fellowship that comes only with building a relationship through time and trials. And this fellowship is worth more than any amount of parties. Beloved Son - Part 1

8/6/2023
Rate our podcast! Questions or comments: info@rediscoveringbiblicalmanhood.com Matthew, Mark, and Luke, each in their own way, accent the father’s love for his son (Matthew 17:15; Mark 9:22, 24; Luke 9:38, 42). However, in all three Gospels — this is no small detail — the account of Jesus rescuing this father’s demonized son follows immediately on the heels of the transfiguration, which has the heavenly Father’s declaration about his Son at its heart.
