Our Sunday morning messages.

Humility and Repentance

This is the last of three messages about walking in humility. In this message we look at the need for living a life of repentance....that is, we do not excuse even the smallest of sins. Rather, we take every bit of pride, being judgmental, greed, etc to the Lord. We will see that such a way of living will bring times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19).

Humility and the Sinfulness of Men

In this message we continue to talk about humility. But we see that to truly walk in humility, we must have a Biblical understanding of the sinfulness of man. This truth, or doctrine, is not something that should be depressing. Actually, this truth brings freedom. We no longer have to keep up the deception of being who we are not..... which leads to pride. When we understand our sinfulness, we set ourselves up for receiving God’s grace.

God is Calling the Church to Deeper Humility

During these confusing and turbulent times we must be listening to what God is wanting to teach us. One thing He is wanting to do within the Church is to take us to a deeper level of humility. In this message we see the high value God places on humility, and how He is opposed to all forms of pride. In fact, we can count on God to expose pride in us.

Weathering the Storms

One thing in life is certain. We will have storms on this lifetime. We will look at a couple of times when Jesus and His disciples encountered storms. What did Jesus want to teach them about storms? We will see that among other things that God is wanting to take us to a new level of trust.

Looking Ahead To 2021...

As we look ahead to the year 2021, and really for the foreseeable future, the one thing we can probably count on is uncertainty. Uncertainty is forcing us to learn to trust the Lord at a new level. That is good. God does not want us to be floundering or fighting uncertainty but He is wanting us to learn to live and thrive with uncertainty. We also talk about the need to focus on God’s purposes and goals, rather than our own. That’s because His purposes will be established in spite of the...

What Has God Spoken About Us?

We often talk about all the Old Testament prophecies concerning the birth, life, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But there are also many Old Testament prophecies concerning the people of God... some amazing things spoken to us who are living after the time of Jesus. In this message we look at just a few of these prophetic words given to us in the book of Isaiah. These will encourage and motivate us for the destiny God has for us.

The Wonder of the Incarnation, Part 2

We continue to look at the wonder of the Incarnation. It is truly amazing how God planned the sending of His Son to earth in great detail. The focus in this message is how He planned for Jesus to born in Bethlehem. We talk about how He did this, and what is the prophetic significance of being born in Bethlehem.

The Wonder of the Incarnation

The Incarnation is one of the most amazing, miraculous, and powerful truths in the Scripture. In today’s message we look at how God planned the Great Arrival of His Son for centuries ahead....really since the beginning of time. This week we focus on the miraculous way God lead the magi to Bethlehem. May we all grow in our understanding and wonder of the Incarnation!

The People of God: Walking in Integrity, Part 2

We continue to talk about the need for integrity in this message. We look at some other passages in the book of Proverbs, and we talk about what it means practically to walk in integrity. Three areas in particular that we must exercise integrity are in our speech, with our money, and in our relationships . Another way to describe this is for us to do our best to maintain always a clean and clear conscience.

The People of God: Walking in Integrity (part 1)

We continue to talk about areas of hypocrisy that can destroy the testimony of the Church. One area is the lack of integrity. It is true that in today’s world integrity is largely ignored, or even mocked. But we cannot allow this to happen in our lives. As we see in this message, God greatly values integrity among His people. In fact, He promises that those who walk in integrity will be the ones who will abide in His presence, who will be blessed, and who will never be shaken. This is Part 1...

The People of God: Beware of Greed

The people of God, the Church, is to reflect the character of God to the world around us. We are to be the fragrance of Christ. But sometimes we discredit our testimony by our actions. One especially grievous way we can do this is through Greed. Greed is often subtle, and always deceptive. Greed not only destroys our witness but it can lead us to ruin and destruction. This message talks about how we can recognize greed in our lives, and what we can do about it.

The People of God: A Fragrance of Christ

God wants us to be a fragrance of Christ (II Corinthians 2:14-15). That happens as we demonstrate the love of Christ to a dark and suffering world. However, it is possible that through our lack our love we become a noisy gong or clanging cymbal. We are annoying, obnoxious, and repulsive to the world. God is wanting to purge all hypocrisy from us that we may indeed be that fragrant aroma.

Doulos School of Ministry -Paul's Love for People (part 2)

In Part 2 we continue to look at I Thessalonians 2:3-12. We are called to impart not only the gospel but also our own lives to others. We see that imparting our own lives to others is the key to imparting spiritual truth and spiritual power to others. This requires truly loving and serving people like we would with our very own children.

Doulos School of Ministry- Paul's Love for People (part 1)

We continue looking at caring for the flock. In this message we see Paul’s love for people. The primary passage is I Thessalonians 2:3-12. In Part A we look at impure motivations for ministry. We also talk about what it means to impart the gospel to others.

Why are the Nations in an Uproar?

Psalm 2 is a powerful psalm that has so much that speaks to us today. It begins by asking why are all the nations and peoples in such a rage. That’s a question many of us are asking today. This psalm is actually quoted two times in the New Testament, once in the book of Revelation, and in Acts 4. Both times have significance for us in today’s world.

Lesser Known Saints: Faithful Servants

We continue our study of some of the lesser known saints. In this message we look briefly at Epaphas, Phoebe, Priscilla and Aquila, and Tychicus. All were bond servants of our Lord Jesus. We have much to learn from these brothers and sisters.

Be Anxious for Nothing

The year 2020 will be famous, or infamous. We don't know what's ahead. Everything is uncertain, but that doesn't mean that God has abandoned us. Philippians 4:6-8 is the Bible passage for taking our anxieties to God no matter what crazy thing this year throws at us next.

Standing Firm

In these troubled days it's important to realized that we've been called to stand firm in godly conduct against the onslaught of evil and confusion.

Partakers of Grace

God has called us to be partakers of His grace. But do we really understand what grace is? Actually, God wants to pour out His grace upon us!

Doulos School of Ministry-Called to be Shepherds (part 2)

Today, under the New Covenant, God is looking for workers, or shepherds, who will care for His flock as under-shepherds. They will love and serve in the same spirit as the Chief Shepherd, their Lord Jesus Christ. Passages covered are I Peter 5:1-5, John 21:15-17, and Acts 20:28-31.
