Mufti Mohammed Desai Saheb ؒ

24-09-10 The last Tafseer of Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ On the afternoon of the 6th of Rabi ul Awwal 1446, corresponding to the 10th of September 2024, Mufti Mohammed Desai Saheb (Rahimahullah) left this temporary abode and entered into the Mercy of Allah Ta'aala. Mufti Saheb R.A. dedicated his life to the service of the Deen of Allah Ta’aala with unwavering zeal and commitment. Mufti Saheb R.A. completed his Hifz of the Qur'aan-e-Kareem under the expert tutelage of Mufti Abdus Samad Desai Saheb D.B. of Pietermaritzburg, and from a young age led the Taraweeh Salaah in different Masaajid in the Pietermaritzburg area. During this time, Mufti Saheb RA was also invited to lead the taraweeh salaah in the USA. Mufti Saheb R.A. was a Haafiz of note, and was without a shadow of doubt a 'walking Qur'aan'. It was extremely rare for Mufti Saheb R.A. to err in recitation during the Taraweeh Salaah. After completing Hifz, Mufti Saheb R.A. then set about furthering his studies at Jaamia Mahmoodiyah in Springs, but upon the sudden demise of his Marhoom father, Hafez Yusuf Desai Saheb R.A., Mufti Saheb R.A. transferred to Madrasah Inaamiyah Camperdown, to be closer to his family. Here, Mufti Saheb R.A. completed the first two years off the Aalim Faadil course, which was the highest offered, as the Madrasah at that time was still a fledgling institute. Thereafter, Mufti Saheb R.A. transferred to Madrasah Taalemudeen in Isipingo, however, Mufti Saheb R.A. had to put his studies on hold due to personal circumstances and family responsibilities. Nevertheless, the zeal for knowledge did not leave Mufti Saheb R.A. and he eventually resumed his studies at Madrasah Arabia Islamiyyah in Azaadville, where Mufti Saheb R.A. qualified as a Sab'ah Qaari, Aalim, and Mufti. Mufti Saheb R.A. specialised in the field of Iftaa under the expert tutelage of Mufti Sa'eed Motara Saheb D.B. Mufti Saheb R.A. remained under the guidance of Mufti Sa'eed Saheb for approximately ten years. During Mufti Saheb's R.A. student days, he was noted by his Honourable Asaatizah as a student par excellence, coupled with adab and akhlaaq of the highest level. In the line of Islaah, Mufti Saheb R.A. had intially taken bay'at with Hazrat Moulana Hakeem Akhtar Saheb R.A. Thereafter, Mufti Saheb R.A. was spiritually linked to Hazrat Moulana Abdul Hamid Saheb D.B. from whom he received the mantle of khilafat. After qualifying, Mufti Saheb R.A. served the community of Masjid-e-Taqwa, Azaadville, as the Imam, Hifz Ustaadh, community leader and spiritual guide. Together with this Mufti Saheb R.A. also held a post as an Ustaadh and Assistant Mufti at Darul Uloom Azaadville. Mufti Saheb R.A. thereafter returned to his hometown of Pietermaritzburg with the intention of spending time and making khidmat of his respected mother. Here, Mufti Saheb R.A. established Darul Iftaa Ibn Mas’ood (https://fataawa.co.za) which is located at Musjid Khadijatul Kubra (Carbis Road), where he also served as an Imaam, community leader, and spiritual guide. Mufti Saheb R.A. also initiated the training of students in the field of Iftaa. Mufti Saheb R.A served here for approximately two years and seven months until his demise. For over a decade, Mufti Saheb R.A. conducted daily Tafseer and Hadeeth lessons after the Fajr Salaah, together with a weekly Islaahi Majlis which was well received in both communities. Mufti Saheb R.A. would also conduct special Ramadaan programmes for those sitting in I'tikaaf. Amongst the notable qualities of Mufti Saheb R.A. was lofty akhlaaq. Those who acquainted themselves with Mufti Saheb R.A. were very quickly endeared to him. Mufti Saheb's R.A. dedication to serving the Deen of Allah Ta'aala was extremely admirable. Tafseer by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ 2024-09-09 فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ ٤٤ فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ٤٥ فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ ٤٦ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٤٧ رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ٤٨ قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍۢ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٤٩ قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ٥٠

Hadeeth explanation by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ 2024-09-08 Sitting on the floor indicates to a person's humbleness. sitting on the table indicates to pride. not to say that it's not permissible to sit at the table and eat but we should try to practice on each Sunnat and bring humbleness into our lives. the Dunya should mean nothing to us. Tafseer by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-09-05 قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ ٢٧ قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٢٨ قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ ٢٩ قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ٣٠ قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ٣١ فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ٣٢ وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ ٣٣

Tafseer by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-09-04 قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ ١٢ وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ ١٣ وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌۭ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ ١٤ قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ ١٥ فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦ أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ١٧ قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًۭا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ ١٨

Tafseer by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-29 Surah Furqaan, Verses 68 - 72 ... continuation of the explanation of the 13 qualities of the servants of Allah mentioned in the Qur'an. وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًۭا ٦٨ يُضَـٰعَفْ لَهُ ٱلْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَيَخْلُدْ فِيهِۦ مُهَانًا ٦٩ إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًۭا صَـٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ ٱللَّهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ حَسَنَـٰتٍۢ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭا ٧٠ وَمَن تَابَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا فَإِنَّهُۥ يَتُوبُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَتَابًۭا ٧١ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِٱللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا۟ كِرَامًۭا ٧٢

Tafseer by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-28 Surah Furqaan, Verses 63 - 67 Mufti Saheb explains the 13 qualities on the servants of Allah mentioned in the Qur'aan. وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًۭا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًۭا ٦٣ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًۭا وَقِيَـٰمًۭا ٦٤ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا ٦٥ إِنَّهَا سَآءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّۭا وَمُقَامًۭا ٦٦ وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا۟ وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا۟ وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامًۭا ٦٧

Hadeeth explanation by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-25 The poor people will enter Jannah long before the wealthy. That is because the wealthy will have to be answerable for thier wealth.

Hadeeth explanaition by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-24 If you want to love Nabi ﷺ, then prepare to protect yourself from the things of Dunya. By having love of Dunya, lots of deseases will enter the heart such as pride, hatred e.c.t.

Tafseer by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desaiؒ on 2024-08-22 وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْحَىِّ ٱلَّذِى لَا يَمُوتُ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِهِۦ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِۦ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًا ٥٨ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ۚ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ فَسْـَٔلْ بِهِۦ خَبِيرًۭا ٥٩ وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ قَالُوا۟ وَمَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ أَنَسْجُدُ لِمَا تَأْمُرُنَا وَزَادَهُمْ نُفُورًۭا ۩ ٦٠ تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًۭا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَٰجًۭا وَقَمَرًۭا مُّنِيرًۭا ٦١ وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةًۭ لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًۭا ٦٢

Tafseer by Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-21 وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَـٰهُ بَيْنَهُمْ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟ فَأَبَىٰٓ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًۭا ٥٠ وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَبَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍۢ نَّذِيرًۭا ٥١ فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ وَجَـٰهِدْهُم بِهِۦ جِهَادًۭا كَبِيرًۭا ٥٢ ۞ وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ هَـٰذَا عَذْبٌۭ فُرَاتٌۭ وَهَـٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌۭ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخًۭا وَحِجْرًۭا مَّحْجُورًۭا ٥٣ وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ بَشَرًۭا فَجَعَلَهُۥ نَسَبًۭا وَصِهْرًۭا ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيرًۭا ٥٤

Tafseer by Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-20 وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولًا ٤١ إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوْلَآ أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا ٤٢ أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا ٤٣ أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا ٤٤ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًۭا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًۭا ٤٥ ثُمَّ قَبَضْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْنَا قَبْضًۭا يَسِيرًۭا ٤٦ وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا وَٱلنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًۭا وَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ نُشُورًۭا ٤٧

Tafseer by Hazrat Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-19 the Ulama' have mentioned, " If a person follows he's desires leaving out the Mazaahib, there's a fear that at the time of death a person will be deprived of Imaan ."

Tafseer by Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-15 وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلْنَا مَعَهُۥٓ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ وَزِيرًۭا ٣٥ فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًۭا ٣٦ وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا۟ ٱلرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ ءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا ٣٧ وَعَادًۭا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًۢا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًۭا ٣٨ وَكُلًّۭا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ وَكُلًّۭا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًۭا ٣٩ وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَى ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًۭا ٤٠

Tafseer by Mufti Mohammed Desai Sahebؒ on 2024-08-14 وَقَالَ ٱلرَّسُولُ يَـٰرَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مَهْجُورًۭا ٣٠ وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًۭا وَنَصِيرًۭا ٣١ وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ جُمْلَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ ۖ وَرَتَّلْنَـٰهُ تَرْتِيلًۭا ٣٢ وَلَا يَأْتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلَّا جِئْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَحْسَنَ تَفْسِيرًا ٣٣ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحْشَرُونَ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ شَرٌّۭ مَّكَانًۭا وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًۭا ٣٤
