Mary Campbell (WFIL & the National Day of Prayer) + Dave Spadaro (Eagles Insider)

5/1/2024
Mary Campbell joins the show in-studio to share about tomorrow (Thursday May 2nd)'s National Day of Prayer. "Ma" Campbell is the Eastern PA Regional Coordinator and has served 32 years in support of the NDOP. She offers encouragement to participate, be it at an official event (such as the Liberty Prayer Alert (10am-2pm on the Independence Visitors Center grounds in Philadelphia) where Mary will be) or simply right where you are at any point tomorrow. This year's theme is "Lift Up The Word--Light Up The World" based on 2 Samuel 22:29-31. More information is available at www.nationaldayofprayer.org. Mary is 93 years young and has worked with AM 560 WFIL & sister station AM 990 WNTP (formerly WZZD) for 37 years. She is very excited about the NDOP and is a woman of God who lives a life of prayer. Dave Spadaro, Philadelphia Eagles Insider, is not 93 but has worked with the team about the same amount of time (35 years) as Mary has with WFIL :). We're privileged to have Spadaro on the program today as well, discussing several columns he wrote recently pertaining to the 2024 NFL Draft (including thoughts on Howie Roseman's approach and the addition of Jeremiah Trotter Jr) and A.J. Brown following his contract extension. Dr. Larry Anderson (author of The Pastors' Diaries) & Dr. Tony Hurst (Gospel of Grace

4/25/2024
Dr. Larry Anderson (author of The Pastors' Diaries--An Intimate Look Behind The Pulpit) and Dr. Tony Hurst (host of the Gospel of Grace radio program heard Saturdays (8pm) & Sundays (6pm) on WFIL) join the show today. The book contains sections on Pressure, Pain, Power, Pride, Pedestal, Perseverance, and Passion Beyond the Pulpit. Dr. Anderson writes an introduction to and the first chapter of each section, with over 20 pastors in the region contributing a chapter or two. The heart of the project is to give a voice to--and shed light on--challenges pastors face. Often serious but also with elements of humor, these candid stories can encourage fellow pastors and give insight to churchgoers as to what their pastor may experience, with an emphasis on the importance of prayer for their pastor. The Pastors' Diaries can be purchased in the usual places--or, for a copy autographed by both Dr. Anderson & Dr. Hurst, simply send whatever amount you like to: Gospel of Grace P.O. Box 514 Bear, DE 19701 (please make your check payable to "Gospel of Grace") In addition, you'll also have the satisfaction of knowing you're supporting the Gospel of Grace radio ministry that Dr. Hurst hosts on WFIL! Dr. E. Calvin Beisner, Climate & Energy-The Case for Realism co-author & co-editor

4/9/2024
Dr. E. Calvin Beisner joins the Tim DeMoss Show today :). He is co-author and co-editor of Climate & Energy-The Case for Realism. Beisner views anthropogenic global warming as real but unlikely to become catastrophic and believes the cost/benefit ratio of adapting to whatever future climate that lies ahead as better than trying to control global temperature by substituting wind, solar and other renewable energy sources for the hydrocarbon (aka "fossil") fuels. Beisner is Founder, President, and National Spokesman of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation. He has written over 15 books, edited more than 30, contributed to over 35, and published thousands of articles, popular and scholarly. Climate & Energy-The Case for Realism is comprised of 16 chapters written by a dozen experts including co-editor David R. Legates, former professor of geography at the University of Delaware. Chapter titles include "Introduction: Life after Climate Change--Better Than Before," "The History and Politics of Climate Change," "The Science of Climate" and "How Economic Thinking Can Help Tackle Climate Change." Multiple additional chapters outlining the role of the Sun, oceans, evaporation, precipitation & clouds, as well as of greenhouse gases, are found within Climate & Energy's pages. You can keep up with Dr. Beisner at www.cornwallalliance.org. On a related note, during April, should you make a donation of any amount to the Cornwall Alliance, they will send you a copy of Climate & Energy (just request it when making your donation). 4/5/2024
Evangelist Joey Perez is our guest again on the program today to share more of his testimony, as well as regarding next week's spiritual warfare seminar (April 10-12) at Franconia Mennonite Church (613 Harleysville Pike in Telford, PA). You can get details at www.joeyperezministries.org or by calling 215-520-1204. Perez' story, much of which is chronicled in his book I Lived To Tell About It, revolves around the amazing power of God in rescuing him out of a life of violence, drugs and rebellion and bringing Joey "into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins" (Colossians 1:13b-14). Since his conversion in 1979, Perez has been used by the Lord as an international speaker, author, and founder & pastor of Worldwide Evangelistic Ministries, Inc & Church. (Part 1 of our conversation is available via yesterday's podcast dated April 4, 2024) Prompted by this morning's earthquake in the vicinity of Whitehouse Station, NJ (and felt in multiple surrounding states), Tim offers his thoughts as well as Scriptures for consideration (including Psalm 46 & 146 and Matthew 24 & 25). Simon Sinek (bestselling author + speaker) & Toby DeMoss (my amazing son :))

3/6/2024
Very grateful to have my son Toby DeMoss join me in-studio today. Toby sustained a head/neck injury in May 2019, blindsided by a friend's bear hug while having a baseball catch. Toby went from being a travel baseball player & very active young man to battling head/neck pain ever since, withdrawing from college and facing a number of other challenges. 20+ specialists later, a lot is not yet clear, though there has been some progress :). Toby shares some of his story (then through now)--including much good that has happened as he has trusted in the Lord (Romans 8:28). Toby then gives a big ol' assist to his dad as together they interview Simon Sinek--Toby's favorite leadership educator and storyteller. Sinek is author of the global bestseller "Start With WHY" and NY Times bestsellers "Leaders Eat Last" and "The Infinite Game." He hosts a podcast titled "A Bit of Optimism" which we spend time on (among other things). You can find out more at www.simonsinek.com. 2/2/2024
Legendary singer & 2x-Grammy winner Gloria Gaynor graces the program today regarding her upcoming full-length documentary "I Will Survive--A Journey of Faith, Hope, and a Magnificent Second Act," in theatres one day only (Tuesday February 13). The documentary covers much ground, from Gloria's early days in music prior to becoming a global name, the tragedies and triumphs in her life (both personally and professionally), the making of the "Testimony" album, and how her faith in the Lord has changed her life. We also touch on topics ranging from fashion to family :). On a fun note, the documentary is full of vintage photos and video clips, one of which is a brief chat of Gloria being interviewed by Dick Clark (of American Bandstand fame) who at one time was a DJ on WFIL! Find out more at www.gloriagaynor.com! We cap off the show with the final appearance of our longtime compadre Doug Schaub on "Now THAT's Punny" who is (mostly) retiring after a 44-year run in Philadelphia radio!
