7 PRIMAL WOUNDS

Why do we blow up over the little things, freeze mid-argument, or fire off texts we instantly regret? It’s not because there’s something wrong with you—it’s because your Primal Wound just kicked in. And believe it or not, that means your body is doing exactly what it was designed to do. In 7 Primal Wounds, psychotherapist (and former overachiever) Dr. Michaela Renee Johnson (@skytalkdoc) unpacks the emotional emergency response system we all carry—the invisible narratives that quietly run our adult relationships. Whether yours whispers “I’m not good enough,” “I don’t matter,” or “I don’t belong,” it’s not just in your head—it’s wired into your nervous system. With irreverent humor, raw honesty, and unforgettable therapy-room stories (yes, someone really did throw an orange), Dr. Michaela reveals how these wounds hijack your reactions, drive your choices, and shape your connection patterns. Her PRIMAL Reset isn’t another fluffy fix—it’s a real-world roadmap to help you rewire your responses and stop defaulting to fight, flight, fawn, or freeze. You’ll meet your Primal Responders (spoiler: your Inner Teen is a whole vibe) and finally understand why you check out, freak out, or give in just to keep the peace. This isn’t about becoming whole. You already are. It’s about understanding how your brain got wired—and learning how to use it to your advantage. Duration - 6h. Author - Dr. Michaela Renee Johnson.
