AFC DONScast Pre-season Update #1

We're back! Earlier than planned but we kick off our pre-season coverage with a busy episode of the AFC DONScast. In our first pre-season update: Jump on in for the first AFC DONScast pre-season update. Our next pre-season update will be on 6 July 2021.


Matchday 38 - Rangers

It's our final AFC DONscast of the season, which ended with a disappointing 4-0 loss against Rangers. This week, we have the latest news on player departures and arrivals and we look ahead to the key dates ahead of next season plus the latest news and a round-up of the final matches in the Scottish Premiership. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed, downloaded and streamed the AFC DONScast over the past (strange!) season - you've been brilliant. We'll be back to do it all over again...


Matchday 37 - Hibernian

Our last match at Pittodrie for the season ended in a 1-0 loss against Hibs and any chance of securing third in the Scottish Premiership. In this extended edition of the AFC DONScast:


Matchday 36 - Livingston

Our 50th show of the season see the Dons secure European qualification following our win against Livingston at the weekend. We're post-match with Stephen Glass and catch up with him to discuss his first few weeks at the club. Scottish Cup Fourth Round: Livingston

Stephen Glass starts his Aberdeen managerial career with a win against Livingston in our Scottish Cup fourth round fixture on Saturday. We have post match reaction from him, Bobby Clark, Ryan Hedges and Rob MacLean. Plus we hear from new manager following his first day at Cormack Park last Tuesday and at his media briefing on Thursday ahead of the Livingston match. Matchday 34 - St Johnstone

It's a win in Perth as Jonny Hayes sealed the only goal of the game at McDiarmid Park - the first away win in the league for 2021. Hear from Paul Sheerin, his last post match as interim manager. AFC DONScast Special

Matchday 31 - Hamilton

A year ago, Sunday just past, was the last time we were at Pittodrie due to the coronavirus lockdown. At that point, we were fourth in league and one point behind Motherwell in third on 46 points. A year on, we're still in fourth on 49 points, three points behind Hibs in third. Not much has changed but what we've been watching for the past few months has been dull and uninspiring. Back to reality against Celtic at the weekend as the Dons go down 1-0 in Glasgow to an early goal from Odsonne Edouard. Matchdays 28 and 29 - Celtic and Kilmarnock

The Dons made history last week and for all the wrong reasons - for the first time in 118 years we haven't scored for six games on the trot. Luckily following the Celtic match midweek, that particular stat was halted with a win against Kilmarnock on Saturday. Matchday 27 -St Mirren

The lack of goals is a worry as the Dons go five games without scoring - this time against St Mirren. Reaction from Derek McInnes from our 0-0 draw against St Mirren. Matchdays 25 and 26: Livingston and Hibs

Two matches, same outcome - no goals and no win At the time of recording... no sign of a departing Derek McInnes! We have a quick round up from both the Livingston and Hibs matches, with post match reaction from Derek McInnes and Lewis Ferguson.
