I am excited to welcome back to the podcast, Dr. Steve Grubbs. Dr. Grubbs is the equine technical manager at Boehringer Ingelheim. Originally from Tennessee, Dr. Grubbs grew up breeding and showing Quarter Horses on his family's farm, worked with the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales and then attended Ross University and the University of Tennessee. He went on to work for 11 years in private practice before returning to graduate school and obtaining a Ph.D. in comparative and experimental medicine, with an emphasis on virology and immunology. Dr. Grubbs now lives in Missouri with his wife and continues his research with BI in areas such as PPID and equine respiratory diseases. Dr. Grubbs joined me this past May to discuss equine asthma on Episode 73 and now is back to discuss his other research focus, PPID. Dr. Hoyt Cheramie is the Professional Services Veterinarian at Boehringer Ingelheim and a world-renowned expert on Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome. He received both his bachelor's and doctorate in veterinary medicine degrees from Louisiana State University in the early 90s whereafter he practiced large animal surgery throughout the country from 1999 through 2007. He then began his professional consulting and technical support career with Merial. When Merial was acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim in 2017, Dr. Cheramie made the transition as well and has been with BI ever since.
