Mia was on the MLE podcast almost 2 years ago to the day but this time she comes on as not just a 5* rider BUT as a 5* rider that has gone cross country double clear at Maryland and Kentucky. Karen and Robby get to know 3* Rider, Megan Loughnane. Megan shares her story of riding with Susie Beale and Kelly Prather and now with Caitlin Silliman. Megan just recently graduated from University of Virginia with a degree in Architectural History all while having her 2 horses with her and competing at the upper levels. Karen and Robby get to know 4* Eventer, Rachel Lawson. Rachel shares her story of growing up never knowing what Eventing was and just wanted to jump and go fast. It wasn't until she was 17 y/o that she saw a magazine with Karen O'Connor with Theodore O'Connor that she discovered Eventing and knew right there that is what she wanted to do. Not only does Katie ride at the upper levels and has represented Canada at the Nations Cup in Belgium but she is also a full time veterinarian! Karen and Robby welcome Irish Advanced Eventer, Michael Nolan. Michael shares his story of growing up in Ireland not wanting to ride horses. He ended up joining Pony Club, showing ponies in the jumpers and then riding steeplechase race horses. Later, he met Robin Walker and came to the US where he eventually met his wife McKena. Karen and Robby get to know 4* Eventer, Alexa Thompson. Alexa shares her story of growing up in Texas and then getting to ride with Mike Huber. Later, Alexa decided to go to University of Kentucky to become a nurse while running a 100 acre farm that her parents bought for her. Alexa talks about how she struggled working nights as an ICU nurse and competing at the upper levels. After 3 years of nursing, she decided to become a full time rider. Alexa still runs her Clear View Farm in Lexington, KY and is competing a couple of her homebreds at the upper levels. Olivia shares her story of coming from a non-horsey family and going to pony camp in Washington State then joining a Vaulting team. After 3 years of Vaulting, Olivia decided she wanted to ride and later became a Working Student for Tamie Smith and then Sharon White. Now, Olivia is a Working Student for Woods Baughman and is making time to teach lessons and take horses in for training.
