Economic Impact of Golf in Indiana, Mike David

In this episode of #NowOnTheTee we speak with Indiana Golf Executive Director, Mike David who discusses the recent release of the 2022 Economic Impact Study. This study displayed some heavy numbers showing that Golf is a significant driver of economic activity across the State of Indiana through direct operational expenditures and capital investment, as well as the attraction of golf tourism, golf-related retail spending and new home construction in golf communities. Dr. Gary Sailes

This episode of #NowOnTheTee is honoring Black History Month with Dr. Gary Sailes. Dr. Sailes is a retired Indiana University professor in the Sports Management program who focused on African Americans in American Sport. We discuss his current focus of getting more persons of color into the upper level of the game, Douglass Golf Course serving as a model for other courses around the country, and the changes in the landscape of golf ultimately providing more opportunities for junior golfers today.


John Cook

Cook talks about his influences on committing to Ohio State, how winning the 1978 US Amateur kickstarted his success, and his opportunity to stay revolved around the game as an analyst for the Golf Channel.

Curt Byrum

#NowOnTheTee brings a discussion with Curt Byrum, who played on the PGA Tour for 15 years! Byrum has been with the Golf Channel for over 20 years and was recently named as the replacement for David Feherty on NBC's Golf coverage. Byrum joins us to discuss how he got his start in television, some of his career highlights, and his thoughts on the split we have seen in professional golf.


Jeff Gallagher and Jackie Gallagher-Smith

This week's episode of #NowOnTheTee features the latest Indiana Golf Hall of Fame Inductees, Jeff Gallagher and Jackie Gallagher-Smith! Micheel discusses how he found his way onto the Indiana University Golf team and how Coach Sam Carmichael gave him the courage and confidence to play on tour.
