Calen spent his career as a player in MLS with the Chicago Fire and Houston Dynamo. Now, he's part of the MLSsoccer.com digital team working on on several panel programs like Extra Time. Most importantly, he's been traveling the country to record and tell the stories of small soccer communities through his show The Movement.

Thanks to some favorable schedules, we're able to release a day early this week -- so we can avoid looking ridiculous "previewing" a match that has already happened. Hope to see you out at DSGP Wednesday night!

It's a little hard to record on Tuesday and release on Thursday. This week we got a lot wrong thanks to the fake bomb cyclone/blizzard aka "actually just a regular snow storm." There were some interesting points in the Seattle/Rapids conversation, though, so it made the most sense to keep that segment in. Hope you enjoy it all!

In this episode we've got Jordan, Connor, Abbie, Joseph, and Jeff. We go deep on the Dallas/Rapids game, especially with Jordan & Connor having called the game for Altitude Radio. Jeff talked with Bobby Warshaw about the game, too, and his impressions of where the team and league are headed. Then, lastly, we debated important matters such as just which kit will Houston wear this weekend. Stick around at the end for a little easter egg.

We start with some slighly awkward "Role Play" and discussion of what we saw in the Sporting KC match last weekend. We look at other key trends around the league including the Sounders, RSL, Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Minnesota. Then we dive into the upcoming match with FC Dallas to talk tactics and personnel, share our perspective and expectations, and make some predictions.

Of course we start by looking at Rapids' 2-0 loss to the Seattle Sounders last weekend. We discuss a few questions about MLS like "Is Carlos Vela the best player in the West?" We talked with Matt Doyle about how to understand the game at a deeper level and what he sees for the Rapids this season. We preview the match with SKC this weekend and wrap up with "Faking It or Making It".
