Navy SEAL: Jose Arteiro

When civil war broke out, the American Red Cross evacuated him and his mother to his parents home country of Portugal. Later, as a teenager, he would move back to the United States and eventually serve the country of his birth. 2010 Haiti Earthquake: Coast Guard Response

An American Hero: Roy Benavidez, Medal of Honor Recipient

On May 2nd, 1968 Army Master Sergeant Roy Benavidez, armed with only a knife, jumped into action to help a 12-man Special Forces patrol who were surrounded by nearly 1,000 men. He would later be awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, four Purple Hearts, and the Medal of Honor for his valorious actions in combat. Today, on the 24th anniversay of his passing, we welcome his daughter, Yvetter Benavidez Garcia, to the podcast to continue her father's legacy by inspiring and educating others about his story.
