High Achiever

7/6/2021
Kris Grant is a CEO who is passionate about leadership. Reaching the C-level at just 32 and a single mum to two young children, Kris was a high achiever who worked hard. Honing her management skills while leading over 50,000 staff throughout Asia Pacific at a global talent management firm where she held the position of CFO and COO, Kris came to a cross road. Unable to change the behaviours of the old men at the top and presented with a fresh opportunity to head up ASPL Group, a leading management consulting, training and recruitment organisation, Kris took a leap of faith and hasn’t looked back. With a leadership team comprising 90% females, Kris has developed a team of highly engaged staff, and a roster of industry experts who work to deliver co-designed goals for a national client portfolio which includes all levels of government, major telcos and commercial clients in the banking, mining and health sectors. The Ultimate Ultimatum

6/8/2021
Upon completing her studies as an international student in Canada, Jette Stubbs was faced with the ultimate ultimatum – find a job in 90 days or leave the country. With no family to lean on and less than $100 in her bank account, Jette quickly realised she had a ton of skills but no idea how to market herself. Jette joins me to discuss how she went from applying for 100 jobs and receiving no response to finding her dream career. Jette’s path to success has not been smooth in fact there have been many obstacles to overcome including her mother getting robbed and stabbed and her father being diagnosed with dementia when she was just 25. Death Sentence

5/4/2021
*EXCLUSIVE Interview with Robert Ray, the last man sentenced to Death in Colorado* At just 34, Robert Ray has already been in prison for 16 years. Sentenced to death in 2005 for a crime he is adamant he did not commit, Robert was the last man sentenced to Colorado’s Death Row. In his first ever interview, I talk candidly with Robert, about his life growing up in the ghettos of Chicago, gang culture, his trial and why he was happy to receive the death penalty. Robert opens up on the pain of being abandoned by his wife and loved ones, we discuss what he really thinks of the jury foreman and what happened when Governor Jared Polis commuted his sentence. With the victim being a senator’s son, questionable witness motives and a racist jury foreman who published a book on the trial, Robert’s case had everything, but did it have justice? Incarcerated Since: 2005 Sentence Received: Death Sentence Commuted to Life Without Parole in 2020 Convictions: Attempted 1st Degree Murder 1st Degree Assault Accessory to Murder 1st Degree Murder (Conspiracy) x2 If you would like to know more about Robert you can read more at www.ifonlyyouknewpodcast.com.au Link to Robert Ray’s books: https://www.amazon.com/Stereo-What-Robert-K-Ray/dp/1727653602/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=robert+k+ray&qid=1619914836&sr=8-5 https://www.amazon.com/Chloe-Her-Bike-Robert-Ray/dp/B08LN97CS6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=chloe+bike&qid=1619914887&sr=8-2 https://www.amazon.com/Trans-What-Robert-K-Ray/dp/B088XWV5JD/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=robert+k+ray&qid=1619914836&sr=8-2 Robert Ray’s College Fund: https://au.gofundme.com/f/robert-rays-college-fund?qid=b6186174fe778a6f11cb053c4d485b5e Follow If Only You Knew Podcast on Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter for more episodes, photos, videos and other show content. Right place, wrong time

4/27/2021
Jesus ‘Eddie’ Campa joins me to discuss and reflect on his illustrious and at times, controversial career in law enforcement. Born and raised in El Paso Texas, Jesus retired as the Chief Deputy of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office after a 20 year career. Jesus’ last tour as Chief of Police in a city impacted by racial divisions led him to create and implement the innovative No Colors No Labels Initiative designed to remove the preconceived notion that the Police were racially motivated. As an advocate for diversity and with firm beliefs that the workforce should mirror the community they serve, Jesus speaks candidly about the challenges he faced within his own ranks and why he feels he was in the right place, at the wrong time. As one of only two black families in the US community he immigrated to at a young age, racism was all too real for Colin. Having overcome learning difficulties to graduate Howard University on a wrestling scholarship, Colin is not shy of a challenge which could be the reason that each year, on his birthday, he runs his age in miles! Amplifying Voices

3/23/2021
While browsing for the her next social justice mission in the early days of the internet, Tracy Lamourie, an avid human rights activist, stumbled upon a death row prisoner pleading his innocence. Tracy joins me to discuss how she helped free Jimmy Dennis, the R&B singer wrongfully convicted of murder and sentenced to death, why she got involved and how she built an internationally acclaimed Public & Media Relations organisation. Tracy provides some inside tips for anyone looking to get into PR and we delve into the emerging field of medicinal cannabis, something Tracy has been advocating for since 2012. 3/9/2021
Becoming a Doctor is unlike any other career. When you dedicate your life to medicine it’s years of study, gruelling hours, limited appreciation and a lot of tragedy. There is an expectation placed on you by society that you serve others and must continue to do so for the rest of your life. We hold Doctors to an exceptionally high standard and respect everything they do. So what would make someone walk away from it all? This week I’m chatting with Dr Meagan Kruger, a former medical doctor who despite the stigma that surrounds the decision to quit medicine, left her busy hospital career to lean in to the things that truly fulfilled her. Miss Charity Australia

3/2/2021
After suffering a cardiac event following basic keyhole surgery at only 17 years of age, Asha was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, non-compaction and mitral valve regurgitation, which to keep it simple, means she has Heart Failure. She was told to stop everything. No sports, no dancing, no fast food, basically to stop life but swapping a teenage lifestyle for a long list of medication did not see Asha’s condition improve, instead she was getting worse. A combination of frustration and a lack of understanding of her condition saw Asha push herself to the limits. She did everything she wasn’t supposed to. Parties, more than a dozen gym sessions a week and working excessive hours. This rebellion landed Asha in ICU where she was then transferred to the Advance Heart Team in Perth and within three months she was booked in for Heart Surgery to implant an Internal Cardiac Defibrillator. It was there that she met the wonderful people from the Heart Foundation Australia who provided Asha with the resources and support to fully understand the seriousness of her condition and also prepare her for the inevitable – a Heart Transplant. As a young woman staring down the barrel of a heart transplant within the next few years, Asha is on a mission to raise awareness and much needed funds to support lifesaving heart disease research and organ donation awareness and she was crowned Miss Charity Australia in November 2020. Asha wants everyone to know that you are not alone and that information is power. To learn more about the Heart Foundation Australia check out their website and become an organ donor here.
