Aaron had quite a challenge in getting permanent residency after having a conviction and a prison sentence in the United Kingdom for perverting the course of justice in his role as a police officer. We speak to Ruchika about what motivated her to relocate from India to Australia with her young family. She is a big advocate for empowerment of women and is focused on sustainability solutions. She started a sustainable nappy and clothing business which led her to being a finalist on in the AusMumprenuer Awards. She then recommenced working in her field of Physiotherapy before moving to the public sector and now works for the Transport Accident Commission as a Project Lead for Health and Trauma. She is a mother of two young children and a role model in the community as part of the Be Connected program, which provides digital education to seniors. In this episode we speak to Yndra and Dan about how they met and the challenges they faced bringing Yndra to Australia. They applied for a prospective marriage visa in 2019 and waited more than 2 years for the visa to be granted. Even then Yndra wasn't able to travel to Australia immediately thanks to the COVID-19 border closure. This is an inspiring story of patience and persistence and a worthwhile listen for anyone in a long distance relationship.
