A Tale of Two Kidneys: After a day at the pool with his family, David Flores thought fish food was stuck in his eye. It turned out to be a detached retina. Pre-op for eye surgery revealed other serious medical concerns that would spur David and his sweetheart Britney Lizama to consult with specialists at St. Luke’s Medical Center in the Philippines. Their prognosis was grim: Both of David’s kidneys were failing and without a transplant he had six months to live. Luckily for David, a perfect match was closer than he could have imagined.
