Aaron Markland is an award-winning singer, published songwriter, veteran, retired firefighter/paramedic, husband, father, and surfer born and raised in San Diego California. Aaron served 2 years as a Pararescue Trainee and 1 year as a Munitions Systems Specialist in the United States Air Force. Aaron also served 12 years as a Paramedic Firefighter in the Albuquerque Fire Department and retired as a Lieutenant in 2019. Aaron has recorded 5 full-length albums and is currently a professional musician based out of Ocean Beach. Aaron’s alternative rock band Self Contained recently won Best Rock Album at the 2019 New Mexico Music Awards. Aaron is married to a San Diego Police Detective and he has 2 sons (ages 8 and 3 weeks old). Aaron’s grandfather (Frederick Markland) served in the Marine Corps and was awarded the Navy Cross for actions during the Korean War.
