Tim McAuley on masculinity, simplifying and savoring life

12/14/2020
How can we embrace masculinity, connection and savoring life Meet Tim McAuley who spent the better part of his youth and well into his 20s as a hedonistic pleasure seeker. In 2004, the party came to an end. At age 28 his liver was failing, and he was given an ultimatum: Quit or you’ll be dead by August. A few years later, on a wave off the coast of San Clemente, California he was reborn a 'soul surfer.' That wave brought him into focus and he got a glimpse of his own potential. Surfing taught him how to get out of his own way and just flow. Soul Surfing is Tim’s metaphor. “The principles at play in your development as a surfer are applicable to every area of your life.” With that, Tim founded Soul Surfer School and has been sharing his brand of self-development since. You can find him on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and on https://soulsurferschool.com/ In part 2 of my chat with Tim, he brings it on life, relationships, sex and masculinity…and what inspires him to create, contribute in a meaningful way. If this is the only thing you listen to today, you will be better for it – he really brings it in the last 20mins or so. Enjoy! Antonio Del Giudice on being an artisan no matter what you do

11/23/2020
What most people don’t expect from someone in finance is a focus on conscious wealth generation and creating more change around the world by way of picking projects with intention. Meet Antonio Del Giudice: an investor, consultant, coach and philanthropist. He was raised in a quaint, urban city in Northern Italy. He was well-adjusted child but a thinker, curious, quiet, lived in his own ‘little’ world and found he never really fit in….all of which has been instrumental in helping him forge my own path while relying on my inner compass, voice and what I deem to be meaningful impact-driven work. He was drawn to the finance world when he won a fully paid sponsorship by the Enrico Mattei Foundation; this act of contribution and kindness left an impression on him. He knew whenever he’d be in a similar position, he would do the same for someone else. His studies and career have taken him to different corners of the world working in capital markets and investment banking in France, Italy, the US, and the UK before deciding to quit the corporate life to open my own consulting and coaching firm out of Dubai. Understanding the “Place Within Us” with Landon Porter (Part 2)

10/12/2020
Maya Angelou said, “We all have a place within us that no one can touch.” On this episode of Words and Voices I continue my conversation with Landon Porter as he explains the concept of “God Mode” and how our awareness of ourselves helps us interact more intently with the world around us. We also discuss the desire to connect with others and what to do when we feel that burning desire to get our message into the world. After a lifetime of wrong turns, Landon Porter finally found a way to live out the rest of his life doing EXACTLY what he wanted. Just because it seems that he has it all - a super healthy marriage, a career he loves, a loving relationship with his family, it wasn't always that simple for him. In fact, a lot of times he woke up in the mornings living out his own personal hell. Not for trying to do it better. He was raised by a practitioner in Science of Mind and has studied the work of all kinds of gurus and teachers. Spiritualists, psychonauts, psychologists, and people who just refused to stick with the "given" path. Eventually, he tired of the angry, frustrated feelings and was able to piece together the education he had received his entire life. And it turns out they all were saying the same damn thing...
