DA is Domain Authority, it's the metric invented by Moz to give an idea of the value of a website across the internet. Nowadays, it's being used well beyond it's purpose through as brands use it to value a link from content creators over the value of the community they have created. However, this is a situation we are stuck in for the time being. So, what are the ways to improve your DA on your website? As I joke with our guest this week, Google Ads is not a sexy subject. It's all numbers and statistics. It's dull, dull, dull. You have have noticed then that I've not really ever covered it for the Punkcast. Fact is however, it's many businesses secret weapon. A well-built targeted Google Ads campaign can be powerful. It forms much of the business of my agency! Bloggers everyday will miss out on paid opportunities for work because of what I class a lack of understanding and laziness on behalf of the PR agencies and brands. It's been a busy, busy week. Lots happening at my day job agency Ina4 as we've gone through a large re-branding project of which I am now very, very happy with. On top of this we attended the fantastic Business Expo Wigan organised by the brilliant Launch Events. I had the opportunity to interview the organisers, Nichola Howard and Jo Leigh as we talked about what they are doing and what they have offered Wigan!

This episode we are going to focus on one of the most important aspect of any kind of digital campaign. Good old-fashioned PR. I think sometimes we can get all a little carried away with the technical nitty gritty of digital marketing and it's shiny tools. It's important to remember that when it comes to exposure, Digital PR is one of the biggest tools in your toolkit. Let's not forget that when it comes to website visability with SEO, links are really important and it's not about the quantity of link (yes, ignore those spam emails) it's about the quality of links and PR is one of the best ways to achieve those links. I spoke this episode with a PR expert in Claire Gamble from Unhooked Communications who provides PR services to a range of local and national clients. We discuss how businesses can uncover and utilise PR opportunities that perhaps they weren't even aware of and some of the tactics involved in harnessing them.
