Co-founding the legendary band Pantera, Darrell’s innovative riffs and electrifying performances catapulted him to global fame. With albums like Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display of Power, Pantera re-defined metal in the 1990s. After Pantera's disbandment, Darrell and his brother Vinnie Paul formed Damage Plan, continuing to push musical boundaries. He was famous. And he was a drunk! After his career fizzled, he drank himself into oblivion at his oceanfront Santa Monica condo. One night, after a few bottles of vodka, he slipped, fell, and died at the age of 63. Director Billy Wilder called it "a lousy fade-out of a great guy."
