Hollow Promises: When the Search for Brittany Horn Duff Goes Cold

7/19/2024
Send us a text On June 13th, 2022, Brittany Horn Duff left a panicked voicemail on her friend’s phone stating that she was scared and in Louisa, Kentucky on her way home…but Brittany never made it home. It has been two years since Brittany vanished This is not just a story about a missing mother of four, a loving cousin, a best friend, or a brother’s sister. This story is also about police corruption within West Virginia’s law enforcement agencies. What I will be discussing has already been published by the media and is no secret to locals…but it is a secret to those outside Kermit. This is a story that needs to be shared because the world has not heard it; and Kermit residents are too scared to talk about her disappearance. The Long Road to Justice: The Unsolved Murder of Brenda Gail Lambert

7/8/2024
Send us a text Episode 29 On July 26th, 1992, Brenda held a birthday party for her one-year-old son, lovingly nicknamed, “June bug”. The birthday party came to an end at approximately 9:00 p.m. Allegedly, Brenda went from car to car asking someone to stay with her; sadly, she was left alone (Perry, 2022). That would be the last day anyone would see or hear from Brenda again. Brenda’s husband, Raymond didn’t report her missing until two days later (Content, 2016). Brenda’s personal effects were left behind along with her vehicle, a red Chevy Spectrum. Raymond filed a missing person report stating that he left their residence on July 26th, 1992, at 8:00 p.m. and went to stay with his mother near Coaldale Mountain. Raymond allegedly returned to his residence on July 27th, 1992, at approximately 2:30 p.m. only to find Brenda missing. He stated that the last thing she was last seen wearing was a blue shirt and blue shorts. The New Bedford Highway Killings - Debra Greenlaw Perry DeMello's Story

6/27/2024
Send us a text Episode 28 Debra Greenlaw Perry DeMello vanished in the spring of 1988 and her body was found on November 8th. She was thirty-five and a mother of three children. Debra’s body was the third of six women who were found alongside the highway in Southeastern Massachusetts. Sadly, a highway worker found Debra off Interstate 195 in Dartmouth (United Press International, 1988). Thirty-six years later, and the New Bedford Highway killer has never been found. I had the honor and privilege of speaking to Wayne Perry, Debra’s brother about her disappearance. Now, as a warning, the audio in this podcast may be challenging at times to understand. Unfortunately, I encountered some technical difficulties during the recording of this episode, which affected the audio quality. After multiple attempts at editing this audio, I finally have a finished product, but it is not my usual standard. I took steps to ensure this would never happen again. Please try and stick with it because what Wayne has to say is heartfelt, chilling, emotional, and needs to be heard. https://missingfirst24.com/ https://youtube.com/@missinginamericathe1st24hours?si=Y72nP5hZD6SEQEZ1 https://www.facebook.com/groups/mia24 https://x.com/the1st24hours References United Press International. Dylan Ehler: Missing from Nova Scotia

6/17/2024
Send us a text Episode 27 Like I do with many families, I wanted to check in with Dylan’s parents to see if there were any updates or if little Dylan had been found. Dylan’s father, Jason agreed to an interview with me to discuss Dylan’s case. I want to reiterate to my listeners that I am NOT a psychologist as one of my interviewees may have inadvertently suggested. I have a degree in criminal justice and psychology. My background is medicine and working as a behavioral analyst in a criminal lockdown facility. Jason stated that he has faced cyber-bullying on Facebook and other platforms regarding his child’s disappearance. In fact, it has been so serious that he has been forced to move away from his home where his son vanished and even go so far as to go to court to get an injunction against these Facebook groups. In simple terms, an injunction is a court order which requires a person or persons to do or cease doing a specific action. While he won his case in court, unfortunately multiple Facebook groups continued to crop up, starting cyber-bullying and rumors all over again. Ultimately, Jason wants to find his son and bring awareness to his son's case. Persons of Interest From murderers to money launderers, thieves to thugs – police officers from the...
