Wear the Red Handprint: A Call to Remember
5/4/2026
This special PSA from We Are Resilient is a call to action for May 5th, National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.
Tomorrow, we’re asking you to take part in the Wear the Red Handprint Challenge.
The red handprint has become a powerful symbol representing the silenced voices of our people and the lives that should still be here. Across Indigenous communities, it stands as a reminder that too many cases go unheard, unseen, and unresolved.
In this short message, we invite you to stand with us. Wear a red handprint across your face, your clothing, or however you choose to show support. Share it. Talk about it. Be visible.
Awareness matters. Visibility matters. Our people matter. Join us in honoring those we’ve lost and in fighting for those still missing.

Ella Mae Begay Update: Justice on the Line
4/27/2026
In this mini episode, Sheyahshe provides an update on the case of Ella Mae Begay, a Navajo elder who disappeared from her home in Sweetwater, Arizona in June 2021.
After a federal judge ruled a key confession inadmissible in 2024, prosecutors moved forward with a plea agreement that would have allowed Preston Henry Tolth to plead guilty to a single robbery charge, potentially avoiding additional prison time and any future prosecution for murder or manslaughter.
Earlier this month, a U.S. District Court judge rejected that agreement following testimony from Begay’s family, who continue to seek accountability and the return of their loved one.

MURDERED: Ashlea Aldrich (Mini Episode)
10/21/2025
In this mini-episode, released in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sheyahshe revisits the story of Ashlea Aldrich, a 29-year-old Indigenous mother from the Omaha Reservation whose death remains unsolved nearly five years later. On January 7th, 2020, Ashlea was found dead in a field near her home. Her family believes she was the victim of years of domestic violence and that their repeated pleas for help were ignored by the very systems meant to protect her.
Ashlea’s story is not an isolated tragedy. It’s a reflection of a crisis, one where violence against Indigenous women is too often dismissed, and justice comes too late, if at all.
