Well, we finally have some news, but it's not the news we wanted. But, we start with our report on our biggest tournament in a while (8 players!), and a breakdown from a special guest on her first Runewars tournament experience. We also give some feedback on our lists and Shane's newest tournament tweaks to see what we thought. Then, of course, on to the news that Runewars OP is shut down. While it doesn't seem to bode well for the future of the game, and we likely won't see any new releases either, the beginnings of a community effort to sustain tournament play have begun. We've made it to the end...of 2018. In our last episode for the year, we start with a look back at our recent tournament. It's late, and I'm tired. What the FAQ did we talk about? I think there were some FAQing articles...oh yeah, Prince F (and his new nickname) and the Obscenes. We definitely talked about those. There was something else that we added in at the last FAQing minute...what was it? Oh yeah, the new tournament regulations (quad party tents!). Hmm...seems like that wasn't all. OH YEAH NEW FAQ! After a long time, we finally have clarification on a ton of things, thanks FFG (completely unironically). Players going in to Worlds got a ton of questions answered...almost everything. Back to normal, where we record the day before an article. We finally know everything in the Baron Z and Lord V boxes, so we look at a few ways you might build them out. Articles are coming at a rapid pace, and we saw a bunch of new stuff for the Uthuk. Viper Legion dials, an equipment that comes with them, and a whole pile of stuff (well, a small portion of the huge pile) that comes with Th'Uk Tar and Gorgemaw. We're back from our week off, and lo and behold, there was a new article on recording day! There's a little bit of new stuff with the second Ventala article, so we talk about their new champion slot upgrade, Warden of Horn and Branch, the full reveal of Flank Fire, and about their possible place in the Latari. A couple Regionals have happened since we last recorded, and Luke follows his Nationals win with a Regional win in Spokane - he's the champion Daqan deserve! The FFG Center Regional happened as well, and Church14 took it with his Uthuk in a heavily-Uthuk field. In more important tournament news, we had our monthly store tournament for July, and it turned out to be the (first annual?) Initiative One Host Showdown. Once again, we put off talking about the league format, but for good reason. We got the second new hero introduction article for Baron Zachareth from the Daqan, and FFG also slipped an alt art for the new Uthuk hero in the tournament kit! Although we don't have dials for either one yet, we get a pretty good idea of how they function.
