To mark 2025 Notting Hill Carnival, John Child presents a special edition of Aracataca devoted to the Trinidad & Tobago-born calypsonian and soca artist King Wellington who made it his mission early in his career to change calypso by fusing it with funk and soul to create "rusofunk", a precursor of soca. The show features excerpts from an interview with Wellington conducted in Trinidad by John and calypso researcher Dmitri Subotsky and is packed with rare vinyl cuts from Wellington as well as Lord Shorty and Solo Harmonites Steel Orchestra.
