The Texas Longhorns had a record-setting outing in the NFL Draft, with 11 players selected through the seven rounds this weekend. Byron Murphy kicked off the proceedings for Texas, with the No. 16 pick, before seeing Kansas City trade up to pick Xavier Worthy at the bottom of the round. From there, Texas had nine more players selected, setting the record for draft picks in the common draft era. What does that mean for Texas in its current recruiting efforts and what do we expect for next year?

The Texas Longhorns closed out 2024 spring practice with the annual Orange and White game. While presumptive starter Quinn Ewers saw minimal action, the offenses still stole the show led by a pair of young guns. All-world recruit Arch Manning and early enrollee Trey Owens led the offenses to a highlight-filled Saturday where the offenses showed off the high ceiling for next season.

The Texas Longhorns continue to blaze through the Big 12 with a sweep of the Baylor Bears, continuing to take a hold on the conference. With several ranked teams losing over the weekend, Texas looks to be in control of both the conference and their path to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Softball tournament.

The Texas Longhorns softball team did what was previously unthinkable, beating the modern Oklahoma Sooners' softball team in a conference series. Mike White and his team leaned on incredible fielding and pitching to get the job done, keeping them in the race for the Big 12 title. What does that mean for the remainder of the regular season?

After yet another trip to the Elite 8 under Vic Schaefer, the Texas Longhorns found their stay in the NCAA Tournament cut short at the hands of the NCState Wolfpack. Recurring issues on both ends of the floor spelled doom for the Longhorns as the Wolfpack got the job done from behind the arc.

After both teams put up dominating performances in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, their paths diverged. The Texas women continued their dominating ways and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time in four years under Vic Schaefer. A combination of suffocating defense and offensive rebounding led the ladies to the second weekend of the tournament and, hopefully, an even deeper run. The men's offensive struggles continued against Tennessee, with turnovers and a lack of consistent playmakers ultimately spelling the end of the season for them.

The Texas Longhorns opened the NCAA Tournament Thursday with a convincing win, setting up a matchup against former coach Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers. It wasn't the prettiest game either team had played, with both the Longhorns and the Rams ratcheting up the defensive pressure. When forced to take outside shots, both teams showed why they're often called "low-percentage" shots.

The Texas Longhorns are one of just 22 teams with both the men's and women's team playing in the Big Dance, but the ladies lead the charge with their No. 1 seed, hosting in Austin. The men, after a disappointing trip to the Big 12 Tournament, fell to a No. 7 seed and will take on Colorado State, the winner of the play-in game against UVA. Not to be left out, the football team took the field for the first time on Tuesday, getting their own March madness going.

Both the basketball teams took a trip to Kansas City and had vastly different outcomes. The ladies went in and took care of business, claiming the conference title on their way out of the Big 12, despite the challenges they've faced this year. Rodney Terry's team had the opposite experience, looking convincing early but struggling to hold onto the lead and losing in their first shot in Kansas City. Coming off of the most successful season this side of 2009, the Texas Longhorns and Chris Del Conte extended head coach Steve Sarkisian's contract another four years through the 2030 season. While the contract details have yet to be released, it's safe to assume that Sarkisian is getting a sizeable raise, with Texas getting Sark's services for a relative discount -- as the third-best paid coach in the Big 12. For context, if Sarkisian was in the SEC for the 2023 season, he would have been No. 13 in the conference, just behind Eli Drinkwitz of Missouri.
