The Other Mothers Podcast is hosted by friends Elle, Caro and Jen who speak candidly about their experiences of baby loss and invite guests to share their stories too. About the hosts: Caro Tasker runs The Spikey, a neurodivergent space/community as an autistic ally and educator. An ardent ambassador for neonatal research in memory of her son Freddie, the funds raised so far have made one of the biggest impacts on preterm labour in almost 60 years. Caro can be found on instagram as @spikey. Elle Wright is a blogger and The Sunday Times Bestselling author of Ask Me His Name and A Bump In the Road. Writing about the loss of her son, Teddy, who died at 3 days old in 2016, Elle has been instrumental in opening up the conversation around pregnancy and child loss to the media. Jen Reid is the Co-Founder of Teddy's Wish, a charity that funds potentially life-saving research into the causes of baby loss and provides bereavement counselling for grieving families. The charity was set up by Jen and her husband Chris in July 2014 to honour the memory of their baby boy Eddie who they lost to SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) when he was only three months old. Malin speaks about the loss of her baby girl Consy and how she navigated her grief journey alongside the loss of her mother, whilst also in the midst of a domestically abusive relationship. We speak about what Malin found helpful in her grief, the arrival of Consy's younger sister Xaya, and parenting again after loss. Georgie shares with us her heartbreaking experience of having to say goodbye to Archie and then finding herself in a world of secondary infertility and IVF treatment before she went on to welcome her two daughters. It’s fair to say that Georgie, alongside her fantastic network of friends and family, has a wicked sense of humour that has definitely seen her through the darkest times in her life. Conceiving After Loss

In this episode we talk about conception after loss; what it looks like to take that leap of faith into trying again after losing your baby. Caro opens up about her ability to fall pregnant easily, but a diagnosis of an incompetent cervix left her terrified that she’d never be able to carry a baby to term. We hear about the incredible care that she received throughout her next pregnancy that ensured her second son was delivered safely into the world. While Jen and Elle discuss their personal stories of fertility treatment after loss and secondary infertility. All of our stories are so different, and yet the one common story is that we all had to take the leap of faith into allowing ourselves to try again.

Finding Our Tribe In Grief
