As your eyelids begin to droop we’ve scheduled music to unwind with. There may be some Delius or Ravel, some partsongs or a piano trio. Day’s End will ease you into slumber. Listen with the lights off.

Sound Lounge and Kate Mead provide an audio homepage for contemporary music. A balance of hardcore avant garde, atmospheric soundscapes, up to the minute contemporary, early 20th Century … and a brush with art pop.

This weekly programme covers the territory, from the German Lied, the French mélodie, the Spanish canción, the folk song, songs with orchestra and also celebrates remarkable singers from the 1950s to the present day.
